  • Publication number: 20250260854
Abstract: A method is described for obtaining and using viewership data to determine relationships between previous viewership of an episodic program and viewership of future episodes of the program. Aggregating the data may comprise determining missing data points and predicting substitute data points based on past viewership data for the individual viewer and a plurality of other viewers. Data may be presented to the user in a number of ways to aid in analysis and planning of likely viewership for a season of a television program. Data may be used to optimize advertising revenues, plan television lineups to maximize a number of likely viewers, or allocate content and resources between broadcast and video-on-demand.

  • Publication number: 20250259257
Abstract: A sequence of images depicting an object is captured, e.g., by a camera at a point-of-sale terminal in a retail store. The object is identified, such as by a barcode or watermark that is detected from one or more of the images. Once the object's identity is known, such information is used in training a classifier (e.g., a machine learning system) to recognize the object from others of the captured images, including images that may be degraded by blur, inferior lighting, etc. In another arrangement, such degraded images are processed to identify feature points useful in fingerprint-based identification of the object. Feature points extracted from such degraded imagery aid in fingerprint-based recognition of objects under real life circumstances, as contrasted with feature points extracted from pristine imagery (e.g., digital files containing label artwork for such objects).

  • Publication number: 20250258094
Abstract: A method and system for gas leak detection can involve analyzing image data of a scene in an industrial plant to identify a presence of a unique gas within the scene based on variations in a refractive index of the unique gas relative to surrounding materials, wherein the image data of the scene can be captured without an artificial background screen. Variations in the refractive index can be compared with typical index contrast imaging profiles to distinguish the unique gas from other substances within the scene. A signal or notification indicating a presence of a leak of the unique gas within or from the industrial plant can be output when the unique gas is distinguished from the other substances within the scene.

  • Publication number: 20250256052
Abstract: The invention pertains to a wearable pressure-applying device designed for user comfort and convenience. The device features multiple securing mechanisms for attachment to the user, including adaptable closures such as zippers. A manual or mechanical engagement system allows the user to adjust the constriction of the device, applying pressure as desired. Notably, the closure mechanisms do not extend across the entire vertical length of the wearable device, enhancing flexibility and comfort. The constriction mechanism employs either threaded or stringed lacing methods, with separable connections for user attachment and removal. An ergonomically contoured handle, easily attachable and detachable via a coupler, enhances usability. Additionally, a cord lock mechanism ensures precise pressure control, with a quick-release feature for instant pressure relief. Modular attachment options for both mechanical and cord-lock mechanisms offer versatility.

  • Patent number: 12388821
Abstract: A native application on a client computing device enables secure user authentication via an identity provider (IdP) for accessing services of a web service provider. The native application forwards a redirect request generated by a main gateway of the service provider and including an IdP uniform resource locator (URL) to a system browser of the client computing device. The redirect request directs the system browser to a broker gateway of the service provider that registers an authentication response handler and redirects the system browser to the IdP URL to enable a user of the native client computing device to authenticate. After the broker gateway receives an IdP authentication response from the IdP following authentication by the user, the broker gateway provides the IdP authentication response to the native application for providing back to the main gateway. The main gateway finally processes the authentication response to complete the authentication request.

  • Patent number: 12383257
Abstract: A suturing device comprising an elongated member including a cavity formed in a surface thereof, a needle passage, and a vacuum port. When the elongated member is inserted into a body including tissue and a vacuum is applied to the cavity, the tissue is captured by the cavity. A needle pusher is operable to move a needle having a sutured attached thereto through the tissue until a first end of the needle is captured by a needle capturing assembly. A clamp coupled to the elongated member is used to extract the needle from the needle capturing assembly and reposition the needle with suture attached to be re-engaged by the needle pusher. The cavity may include a plurality of cavity portions for capturing multiple contiguous portions of the tissue such that a single pass of the needle and the suture results in the suturing of the multiple portions of the tissue.
