  • Publication number: 20220227421
Abstract: A vehicle chassis comprises a pair of beams, each beam having generally parallel side plates extending in height and length dimensions Hc, Lc of the chassis and joined by one or more webs extending between the side plates in the width dimension Wc, which together form its principal loadbearing elements. At least one of the beams includes at least one suspension mount which extends between the side plates and connects the side plates together.

  • Patent number: 11370491
Abstract: This disclosure is directed towards a chassis system and more particularly to a spindle cross member for the chassis system which is suitable for an articulated vehicle. At least one of the cross members of the chassis system is spindle cross member comprising a main member, having a middle section and tubular end sections. The middle section has an at least partially curved middle section wall which defines a cavity with an opening for receiving a head of a suspension frame of the chassis system. The tubular end sections are located at each end of the middle section located along a longitudinal axis of the spindle cross member. The spindle cross member further comprises means for pivotally attaching the head of the suspension frame to the middle section wall within the cavity.

  • Patent number: 11021190
Abstract: A vehicle includes a trailer assembly supported by a rear chassis system. The rear chassis system includes a chassis frame having at least two longitudinal chassis members. The rear chassis system includes a rear suspension frame coupled to a back rear axle. The rear suspension frame includes a bearing head with a bearing aperture. Equalizing beams extend between the front rear axle and the back rear axle, with each equalizing beam including a bushing aperture. The rear chassis system also includes a plurality of suspension mounts. To minimize relative translations experienced by the suspension mounts during operation of the vehicle, opposing end sections of a spindle cross member, along with the bearing aperture and the bushing aperture are coaxially aligned. Likewise, the opposing spindle end sections, the bearing aperture, the bushing aperture, and a top plate of each suspension mount are coplanar.
