Publication number: 20250317240Abstract: To improve the probability of receiving a link layer block, a block retransmission repetition scheme may be utilized. Block retransmission repetition may enable link layer blocks to be included more than once in a retransmission, thereby increasing the probability that the retransmitted link layer block can be successfully received. In some approaches, a quantity of retransmissions of a link layer block may be determined without explicitly signaling the quantity of retransmissions. For instance, a wireless device may determine the quantity of retransmissions based on a quantity of negative acknowledgments and a limit on link layer blocks associated with the payload. Determining the quantity of retransmissions without explicitly signaling the quantity may avoid consuming bits in a packet header for explicitly indicating the quantity, thereby reducing complexity or reducing the time taken over the air for the additional bits in the packet header.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 25, 2024Publication date: October 9, 2025Inventors: Joel LINSKY, Mayank BATRA

Publication number: 20240284301Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Techniques described herein provide for extending the range of a personal audio device connected to a personal wireless communication device via enabling the personal audio device to connect to and communicate with the personal wireless communication device via an access point (AP). An AP may have a larger range than a personal wireless communication device, and accordingly, an AP may be used to stream audio or voice calls to the personal audio device when the direct link quality between the personal audio device and the personal wireless communication device is below a threshold. To reduce latency and packet loss associated with transitions between communicating with the personal wireless communication device directly and via the AP or transitions between multiple APs, the personal audio device may be configured to establish a new wireless communication connection before breaking a current wireless communication connection.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 19, 2024Publication date: August 22, 2024Inventors: Ahmed Ragab ELSHERIF, Joel LINSKY, Srinivas KATAR, Vincent Knowles JONES
