  • Publication number: 20080038141
Abstract: A high performance main bearing cap has particular surfaces densified for improved fatigue crack resistance. The surfaces densified are the bolted face inside of a perimetral margin and outside of bolt head interface areas around the main bolt holes, the surfaces of the main bolt holes and the side bolt hole threads. Preferred methods of densification are single needle programmable pattern peening of the bolted face peened area, over-burnishing of the bolt holes, and forming the threads rather than cutting them for the side bolt threads.

  • Publication number: 20070261514
Abstract: A sintered powder metal connecting rod has (i) a central beam section made of a stronger material and (ii) crank and piston end sections made of more machinable materials, and may be forged or not.

  • Publication number: 20070123160
Abstract: A communication cabinet, that includes: at least one fan, adapted to rotate at a first direction during a first period and to rotate at a second opposing direction during a second period; a controller, adapted to control the at least one fan; and at least one filter positioned to prevent dust from entering the communication cabinet and to allow air to exit the communication cabinet such as to remove dust from the filter during the second period. A method for dust removal from a filter, the method includes: providing communication cabinet that comprises the filter, whereas the filter is positioned so as to prevent dust from entering the communication cabinet; rotating at least one fan at a first direction during a first period such as to cool at least one communication circuit installed within the communication cabinet; and rotating the at least one fan at a second opposing direction during a second period such as to remove dust from the at least one filter.
