    Abstract: An earth boring tool having journals with rotary cone cutters thereon wherein an internal lubricant exerts pressure on one side of the sealing means and pressurized drilling mud exerts external pressure against outwardly accessible portions of the sealing means, the sealing means having sealing contact with the journal leg or support axially of the journal and also with the rotary cone cutter radially of the journal and the cutter, and the sealing means being constructed and arranged to maintain sealing engagement with one of the journal leg and cutter as the cutter tilts relative to the axis of the journal in the normal operation of the earth boring tool.
