  • Publication number: 20100147194
Abstract: A method of obtaining a fibre-reinforced concrete with high strength and low volume weight. The concrete mixture has greater mechanical strength properties than those of a standard concrete and a lower volume weight. The invention comprises a matrix of cement, water and fibres, preferably glass-fibre waste, to reinforce the stone aggregates. The formulation comprises a type of concrete that is different from those currently available, owing to the formulation, mixture and novel mechanical behaviour thereof.

  • Publication number: 20090301353
Abstract: A fibre-reinforced concrete mix with a high resistance to corrosion and a low volume weight, having higher mechanical strength values than those of a standard concrete and a lower volume weight. The inventive concrete is different from those currently available owing to the formulation, mix and novel mechanical behaviour of its constituents. In addition, the concrete has a longer service life than other concretes due to its resistance to chemical attack and corrosion.

  • Publication number: 20090294743
Abstract: A conductive concrete through which electrical power can pass, such as to provide cathodic protection for the reinforcing steel and resistance to chemical attacks. The conductive concrete mixture has greater mechanical strength properties than those of a standard concrete, low volume weight and mechanical characteristics that enable same to be used in both a structural and architectonic manner. In addition, the concrete is resistant to corrosion owing to the formulation thereof. The invention comprises an electricity conductor having a low water absorption value and a very low rupture deformation, thereby providing great structural stability. The purpose of the invention is to provide a type of concrete which is different from those currently available, owing to the formulation, mixture and novel characteristics thereof, and which is essentially characterised in that it combines the advantages of existing concretes with electrical conductivity.

  • Publication number: 20090298972
Abstract: A formulation for obtaining a translucent concrete mixture comprising a mixture of polycarbonate and epoxy matrices, as well as glass fibres, optical fibres, colloidal silica, silica and Portland cement. The invention has greater mechanical strength properties than those of a standard concrete, with lower density and mechanical characteristics that enable same to be used in both a structural and architectonic manner. The formulation used to obtain the translucent concrete mixture comprises a type of concrete that is different from those currently available, which combines the advantages of existing concretes with translucency.

  • Publication number: 20090218552
Abstract: A method of producing conductive and/or translucent Portland cement which has high sulphate resistance and a service life of up to 70 years under normal service conditions. Once cement has set, light can pass therethrough. Up to 70% of the final resistance of the cement is reached within 48 hours of setting. The inventive production method is characterised in that it produces a fineness of more than 3450 cm2/g and in that, upon setting, the concrete has a mechanical strength of between 26 MPa and 250 MPa, without the addition of additives, thereby enabling a reduction in the water required to obtain a determined slump.

  • Publication number: 20090205539
Abstract: A method for producing a cement which rapidly acquires good strength and is resistant to corrosion using a novel chemical production technology. The inventive method can be used to produce cements having properties rendering the cement suitable for use in diverse fields including the construction of oil wells, pipelines, etc. The invention also relates to a Portland-type cement which rapidly acquires mechanical strength, which has a shelf-life of up to 20 years under normal service conditions and which contains 4% molybdenum trioxide. The inventive cement is characterised in that it has a fineness of more than 4200 cm2/g. The invention is also characterised in that the cement has a minimum strength of 900 psi at 100° F. for 8 hours from the moment of setting and in that the cement has a minimum strength of 2000 psi at 140° F. after 8 hours from setting, without the addition of any additives, which enables reduction in the water necessary to achieve a pre-determined slump.
