Publication number: 20230242826Abstract: Apparatus and methods to eliminate PFAS from wastewater biosolids through fluidized bed gasification. The gasifier decomposes the PFAS in the biosolids at temperatures of 900-1800° F. Syngas exits the gasifier which is coupled to a thermal oxidizer and combusts at temperatures of 1600-2600° F. This decomposes PFAS in the syngas and creates flue gas. Heat is recovered from the flue gas by cooling the flue gas to temperatures of 400-1200° F. in a heat exchanger coupled with the thermal oxidizer. Various methods inject moisture into the gas stream, controlling temperature through evaporative cooling and/or injecting chemicals that react with gas stream components. Cooled flue gas mixes with hydrated lime capturing decomposed PFAS molecules with spent lime filtered from the cooled flue gas using a filter system that may incorporate catalyst impregnated filter elements, eliminating PFAS from wastewater biosolids and controlling emissions in the resulting flue gas.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 28, 2023Publication date: August 3, 2023Applicant: ARIES CLEAN TECHNOLOGIES LLCInventors: Matthew Newman, Joel Thornton, Brandon Davis, Renus Kelfkens, Ron Hudson, Mark Robertson

Patent number: 11639478Abstract: An apparatus and methods to eliminate PFAS from wastewater biosolids through fluidized bed gasification. The gasifier decomposes the PFAS in the biosolids at temperatures of 900-1800° F. Synthesis gas (syngas) exits the gasifier which is coupled to a thermal oxidizer and is combusted at temperatures of 1600-2600° F. This decomposes PFAS in the syngas and creates flue gas. Heat can be recovered from the flue gas by cooling the flue gas to temperatures of 400-1200° F. in a heat exchanger that is coupled with the thermal oxidizer. Cooled flue gas is mixed with hydrated lime, enhancing PFAS decomposition, with the spent lime filtered from the cooled flue gas using a filter system that may incorporate catalyst impregnated filter elements. The apparatus and methods thereby eliminate PFAS from wastewater biosolids and control emissions in the resulting flue gas.Type: GrantFiled: April 23, 2022Date of Patent: May 2, 2023Assignee: ARIES CLEAN TECHNOLOGIES LLCInventors: Matthew Newman, Joel Thornton, Brandon Davis, Renus Kelfkens, Ron Hudson, Mark Robertson

Patent number: 11468945Abstract: A three-dimensional (3D) storage circuit includes two or more tiers of semiconductor dies, and a storage array of bitcells distributed on the two or more tiers to form a plurality of storage subarrays. One of the storage subarrays is arranged on a respective one of the tiers. Row and column replica/dummy tracking cells are arranged on each of the tiers. A timing circuit is coupled to the tracking cells of each of the tiers. In response to receipt of tier-specific trim bits for each of the tiers, the timing circuit independently controls a timing and/or voltage state of each of the tiers during an access operation of the 3D storage circuit to account for process and/or thermal variation between tiers of the 3D storage circuit.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 2020Date of Patent: October 11, 2022Assignee: Arm LimitedInventors: Rahul Mathur, Mudit Bhargava, Joel Thornton Irby, Andy Wangkun Chen
