  • Patent number: 7066706
Abstract: A laterally tiltable bucket for earth-moving equipment and the like is constructed with a flat plate of unitary construction attached to, and extending the full width of, the bucket, as a support for one or a pair of hydraulic cylinders whose axes are arranged parallel to the flat plate. When two cylinders are used, the pistons of the cylinders meet at a common linkage in the center. Various additional features, including construction of load-bearing portions of the bucket and the bracket to which the bucket is mounted, are joined at right-angles to simplify construction and increase the strength of the assembly.

  • Patent number: 6295738
Abstract: Chain saws and similar wood cutting equipment are equipped with a measuring device that permits accurate cutting of multiple pieces of equal length. The device is a non-expanding beam of focused light directed away from the saw at an angle relative to the cutting portion of the saw, and its use is achieved by positioning the saw at a location at which the light beam intersects the end of the length to be cut, the angle of the light beam determining the length.

  • Patent number: 5111602
Abstract: An improved backhoe clamping device is provided which is designed to be easily added onto standard existing backhoe equipment, and which allows full range of curl for the bucket through effectively hollow webbing between clamp arms. The device includes bucket links having integral mounting brackets, onto which clamp links are pivotally and substantially permanently attached, thereby offsetting their pivot points from the bucket links, and preventing loss of clamp links and removable pins. Clamp arms are pivotally attached to the clamp links by a single pin, this single pin also being used to secure the device in a storage position, preventing loss or misplacement of this pin. Clamp arms are also pivotally attached to the backhoe dipper arm. In this way, the existing backhoe leverage actuates the clamp arms, causing them to move in conjunction with the bucket to achieve a clamping effect.

  • Patent number: 4804309
Abstract: A gripping claw for a backhoe, breaker, or similar device is secured to the end of a boom in a pivotal manner. Attachment is achieved through a pair of plates joined together facing each other, with the claw pivotally mounted at one end in the space between the plates. A piston and cylinder, also mounted in the space between the plates, joins the plates to a second location on the claw, both being pivot connections, so that extension and retraction of the piston causes the claw to pivot between open and closed positions. To install the attachment on a boom-mounted tool, the tool is detached from the boom, and the attachment inserted in its place, with the tool in turn secured to the attachment. The attachment thus serves as an extension, and is readily installed and removed on site.

  • Patent number: 4519739
Abstract: A backhoe clamping device is provided which is designed to be easily added onto standard existing backhoe equipment. The device includes mounting brackets which are secured to the side bucket links of the existing backhoe and bucket arrangement. Clamp links are pivotally attached to these mounting brackets, thereby offsetting their pivot points from the existing links. Clamp arms are pivotally attached to the clamp links, as well as to the backhoe dipper arm. In this way, the existing backhoe leverage actuates the clamp arms, causing them to move in conjunction with the bucket to achieve a clamping effect.
