  • Patent number: 4899550
Abstract: A transport refrigeration system is connected to a hydraulic system including a pump, control valves, a reservoir and a hydraulic device. When the refrigeration system is running, the hydraulic system is disabled and the diesel and compressor are run responsive to cargo refrigeration requirements. When the hydraulic system is activated, the diesel is caused to operate at a preselected speed for maximum hydraulic flow and the refrigeration electrical, if necessary, system unloads the compressor to divert more engine power to the hydraulic pump.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 18, 1988
Date of Patent: February 13, 1990
    Assignee: Carrier Corporation
Inventors: Robert A. Chopko, Joel W. Androff
  • Patent number: 4688391
Abstract: A transport refrigeration system is connected to a hydraulic system including a pump, control valves, a reservoir and a hydraulic piston. When the refrigeration system is running, the hydraulic system is in a bypassing or idling mode and the diesel and compressor are run responsive to cargo refrigeration requirements. When the hydraulic system is activated, the diesel is caused to operate at a preselected speed for maximum hydraulic flow and the refrigeration electrical system unloads the compressor to divert more engine power to the hydraulic pump.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 17, 1986
Date of Patent: August 25, 1987
    Assignee: Carrier Corporation
Inventors: Robert A. Chopko, Joel W. Androff
  • Patent number: 4348871
Abstract: A transport refrigeration machine for conditioning the interior of a trailer comprising a refrigerant compressor, a condenser assembly including a condenser fan, and an evaporator assembly including an evaporator fan. The machine further comprises a fan shaft for driving the condenser and evaporator fans, an engine for driving the compressor and the fan shaft, and a frame supporting the refrigeration machine. The frame includes a box sub-frame, a condenser assembly support sub-frame, an evaporator assembly support sub-frame, and a shaft support sub-frame rotatably supporting the fan shaft.
