Abstract: A device is disclosed herein for manually tensioning a cable having a cable end eyelet and for aligning and holding the eyelet fixed with respect to a chainplate joined to another cable, thereby freeing one hand to pass a locking pin or the like through the corresponding apertures in the chainplate and the eyelet to lock the eyelet with respect to the chainplate, including a crossmember with a pair of arms arranged in complementary, face-to-face fashion and projecting forwardly from the opposite ends of the crossmember and each having a pair of tines therein.
