Abstract: An upper nest and a lower nest of an umbrella framework each comprise a nest body and a plurality of pins around the nest body. Each pin is integrally connected with the nest body via a connecting section. Each middle disk comprises a pin, which is disposed on an outer wall of a sleeve and integrally connected with the sleeve. Each long bone has an upper end thereof coupled with a pin of the upper nest, and the sleeve of each middle disk is fitted over a middle part of the long bone. Each short bone has an upper end thereof coupled with the pin of the middle disk, and a lower end thereof coupled with a pin of the lower nest. Thereby, an improved member structure for an umbrella framework is formed.

Abstract: An integrally formed umbrella framework comprises an upper nest, a lower nest, a plurality of long bones and the same number of supporting bones. A plurality of connecting sections surround and are integrally connected with a periphery of the upper nest at equal intervals, and each connecting section is integrally connected with the upper end of a long bone. A plurality of connecting sections surround and are integrally connected with a periphery of the lower nest at equal intervals, and each connecting section is integrally connected with the lower end of a supporting bone. Each long bone has a connecting section disposed at the middle part thereof and integrally connected with the upper end of the supporting bone. The upper nest, the lower nest, the plurality of long bones, the same number of supporting bones, and each of the connecting sections are integrally formed of a same material.

The top notch, structurally the same as the runner, includes a main body and plural building blocks. Each building block has a threaded hole through which a screw rod can pass to fasten the building block to the periphery of the main body. Each building block has a projecting pin on one lateral side and a recess on the opposite lateral side. When the building blocks are fastened to the periphery of the main body, the front end of the projecting pin on one lateral side of each building block is fittingly received in the recess of the adjacent building block. Each building block can be detached from the main body to facilitate replacement of the ribs and stretchers.

Each stretcher has an upper end pivotally connected to an intermediate portion of one of the ribs and a lower end pivotally connected to the runner. The canopy can be opened or closed by sliding the runner upward or downward along the shaft. One torsion spring is provided where each rib is pivotally connected to the corresponding stretcher. When the runner is slid downward to close the canopy, each torsion spring is compressed and stores energy. When the runner is slid upward to open the canopy, each torsion spring releases the stored energy to reduce the effort required for opening the canopy.

Abstract: A short force arm deflection device is mounted to a section of a center post of an umbrella between a top cap and a runner and includes an upper deflection member and a lower deflection member pivotally connected to each other, and a barrel receiving a compression spring. The upper and lower deflection members are respectively connected to a lower end of an upper post segment and an upper end of a lower post segment. The barrel, receives the compression spring and goes over the connection portion between the lower deflection member and the lower post segment. To open, the runner is pulled upwardly by a pull cord to contact the barrel causing a relative rotation between the upper and lower deflection members for realizing deflection between the top cap and the runner for inclining a canopy.

To open, the runner is pulled upwardly by a pull cord to contact the barrel causing a relative rotation between the upper and lower deflection members for realizing deflection between the top cap and the runner for inclining a canopy.

The pivot pins of the safety buckle are respectively received in pivot holes defined in inside surfaces of the receiving compartments. To open the umbrella, the runner is moved upward along a center post. A user presses down the safety buckle when the runner gets close to positioning pins formed on the center post to allow the hook latches to respectively engage the positioning pins thereby securely fixing the runner in position on the center post.

The hollow tubular sleeve has two symmetrical elongated wings where the pinholes existed respectively. The socket sleeve is the same as the hollow tubular sleeve having two symmetrical elongated wings where pinholes are on the same line with the central bore located on the top of the socket sleeve. There are slots formed between the socket sleeve and its two symmetrical elongated wings for receiving two symmetrical elongated wings of the hollow tubular sleeve.
