Patent number: 12143773Abstract: A method for activating a gas, wherein an electrically conductive aeromaterial having a pore space comprising the gas is electrically contacted and at least one electric current, which varies over time, flows through the aeromaterial, wherein the aeromaterial exhales gas from the pore space when the electrical power consumption is increased and inhales gas from the surroundings of the aeromaterial when the power consumption is decreased, and wherein a temporally pulsed current having predefined pulse power levels, pulse durations and pulse spacings is fed through the aeromaterial and the temperature of the aeromaterial is changed by the time-varying current by 100° C. or more within one second or less. The invention also relates to an electrothermal gas actuator and to uses of a gas actuator.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 2021Date of Patent: November 12, 2024Assignee: Christian-Albrechts-Universitaet zu KielInventors: Fabian Schuett, Armin Reimers, Joerg Bahr, Lena Marie Saure, Florian Rasch, Jannik Rank, Nipon Deka, Rainer Adelung, Soeren Kaps

Patent number: 12049708Abstract: An adhesive joining device for providing a connection between a metal surface and a body using an electrochemical etching device. The device has a vacuum holder to form a vacuum connection between the adhesive joining device and the metal surface. A tool changing holder receives at least two different tools in a time-staggered manner. A first tool can be an electrochemical etching cell for an electrolyte with an etching chamber which is oriented towards the metal surface, a feed for electrolyte, a drain, and two electrodes, one electrode being mechanically and electrically connected to the metal surface and the second electrode coming into contact with the electrolyte. A second tool is for holding and positioning the body to be adhered to the etched metal surface. The distance, position, alignment, and/or parallelity of the body to be adhered can be configured in a reliable and defined manner for the adhesion process.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 2019Date of Patent: July 30, 2024Assignee: nascit GmbHInventors: Joerg Bahr, Melike Baytekin-Gerngross, Mark-Daniel Gerngross, Juergen Carstensen, Rainer Adelung, Ingo Paulowicz

Publication number: 20230075928Abstract: A method for producing a silicon anode for secondary batteries. Mesoporous silicon is used for the anode to provide space for volume expansion in the course of intercalation, especially of lithium ions. However, instead of coating a metal film with silicon, here metal is deposited onto a monocrystalline etched silicon wafer. It is essential that the silicon is monocrystalline and that the two flat sides of the wafer are (100)-oriented, i.e., perpendicular to the (100)-direction of the volumetric crystal.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 3, 2021Publication date: March 9, 2023Inventors: Rainer Adelung, Sandra Hansen, Joerg Bahr, Juergen Carstensen

Patent number: 10177367Abstract: Method for producing metallic surface discharge electrodes on nonmetallic substrates comprising the following steps: a) producing a metallic seed layer on a substrate; b) electrically contacting the seed layer with a metal wire network and an electrolyte containing metal ions; c) electrodepositing a metal film from the electrolyte at least on the seed layer, with the metal wire network being embedded into the metal film, wherein d) metal wire filaments that are movable relative to one another are arranged to form an electrically percolating metal wire network, e) the arrangement of the metal wire filaments is cast into a gel and the gel is dried thereafter to the gel matrix, and f) the dried gel matrix with the metal wire network embedded therein is applied to the substrate and is wetted with a solvent of the gel matrix. Furthermore, the invention relates to a semifinished product for carrying out the method.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 2015Date of Patent: January 8, 2019Assignee: Christian-Albrechts-Universitaet zu KielInventors: Sandra Noehren, Joerg Bahr, Juergen Carstensen
