  • Patent number: 9837224
Abstract: A load or a generator is connected to an energy line, e.g. a ring feeder of an energy distribution network by using a switching system. For this purpose, the switching system has a thyristor circuit, which is connected in parallel to a disconnect switch and connects the transformer of the switching system to an energy line. Thereby an efficient disconnect switch can be realized, which can be dimensioned depending on the power of the load or generator.

  • Publication number: 20160199905
Abstract: The invention relates to a caster (1) having a casting ladle (2), a distribution device (4), and a horizontally moveable transport belt (5) having side limitation elements (13, 14), wherein liquid metal, preferably steel, can flow out of the casting ladle (2) onto the distribution device (4), and from there can be applied to the horizontal transport belt (5), the side limitation elements (13, 14) of the horizontal transport belt (5) being adjustable over the width of the horizontal transport belt. The invention further relates to a corresponding method.

  • Publication number: 20100282432
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of equalizing a solidification process of molten metal produced, in particular, during strand or strip casting, wherein the molten metal (10) is subjected, in particular, to an electromagnetic stirring process, and wherein a magnetic field is applied to metal located upstream of the area of, in particular, the electromagnetic stirring process. According to the invention, it is provided that during the solidification process, at least one magnetic field is applied to an already solidified, at the outside, into a strand, region (11) of the molten metal (10). The invention also relates to a device for carrying out this process.

  • Publication number: 20100132911
Abstract: In the casting close-to-the final dimension of rectangular strands made of metal and the subsequent further processing thereof into metal strips according to the DSC method (direct strip casting) in a horizontal continuous casting installation the cast product (4) is deformed during the solidification thereof into the preliminary strip (5) due to uneven heat dissipation because the top of the strip is cooled only by convection of ambient air and by heat radiation, while the bottom of said strip is in direct contact with a cooled metal conveyor belt (7). In this manner, the initially complete contact between the cast product (4) and the metal conveyor belt (7) is lost and the strip edges of the cast product arch upwards.
