  • Patent number: 10488216
Abstract: A method for operating a motor-driven sports device, in which a maximum speed of the sports device is at least intermittently restricted as a function of a position of the sports device. A device for operating a motor-driven sports device is described, the device including a position-ascertainment unit which is set up for ascertaining the position of the sports device; a speed-ascertainment unit which is set up for ascertaining an actual speed of the sports device; an allocation unit which is set up for allocating a permitted maximum speed to the position of the sports device; a comparison unit which is set up for comparing a permitted maximum speed to an actual speed; and a restriction unit which is set up for restricting a maximum speed of the sports device if the actual speed exceeds the permitted maximum speed.

  • Publication number: 20100330853
Abstract: In recreational boats, multiple drive units, e.g., multiple outboard motors, Z-drives, or jet drives, are often provided to propel the boat, at least one of the drive units having a propulsion reversal function for executing a reverse propulsion. To facilitate execution of a turning maneuver with a boat in an extremely tight space, and to ensure that even an unskilled person is able to reliably execute such a turning maneuver, it is provided that the drive units be activated automatically for executing the turn on the spot as a function of a command for turning. The command may be made via a switch, which is operated by the driver of the boat. One drive unit is then operated automatically in propulsion reversal mode, and the other drive unit is operated in propulsion mode. The power of the drive units is then controlled in such a way that the instantaneous efficiency of the drive units operated during turning is taken into account.

  • Patent number: 7559413
Abstract: The present invention relates to an automatic parking brake, including a brake piston, an auxiliary piston, a hydraulic chamber disposed between the brake piston and the auxiliary piston, a spring element, for prestressing the auxiliary piston, a spindle device connected to the auxiliary piston via a threaded connection, and a drive for the spindle device, wherein in a locked state of the parking brake, the brake piston is mechanically locked via the spindle device and the spring-loaded auxiliary piston, and in a released state of the parking brake, the auxiliary piston is blocked by means of the spring element and/or by means of the spindle device.

  • Patent number: 7231895
Abstract: In a method for operating a camshaft adjusting device, using an actuating drive, the actual setting of a camshaft with respect to the rotation of the crankshaft is followed corresponding to a setpoint setting ascertained in a control unit. In response to the occurrence of a lasting system deviation between the actual setting and the setpoint setting, an error signal is generated. The error signal is designed in multiple stages as a function of the system deviation, different weightings being imputed to the individual stages of the fault indication. By this measure, the fault indications of different weightings may be processed. Faults that are not serious, but nevertheless require attention, may be treated separately from serious faults.

  • Publication number: 20050000763
Abstract: An electrically controlled parking brake for motor vehicles, including an operating element for operating the parking brake and a control unit, which controls an actuator of the parking brake when the operating element is operated. The parking brake function is ensured, upon failure of the electrical supply, if the parking brake includes a connecting device for connecting an auxiliary voltage source, with the aid of which the parking brake may be operated in an auxiliary manner.
