    Abstract: An aircraft having a seating arrangement comprising with a plurality of seats arranged in-line in the fore and aft direction of the aircraft. In a first configuration, the seats are arranged so that the in-line spacing between seats is smaller than the height of a backrest of a seat. At least one of the seats can be reconfigured into a second configuration in which with the aid of the seat a bedded patient care area is made available. The bedded patient care area can be made use of, for example, to bed a person flat having suddenly become ill during the flight. The cabin seating can be configured in making optimum use of available space, requiring just one or two seats to be reconfigured when needed to create a bedded patient care area.
