  • Patent number: 8449809
Abstract: A molding, produced by a layer-by-layer process in which regions of respective polymer pulverulent layers are selectively melted via introduction of electromagnetic energy, where the process employs a powder which comprises at least one homopolyamide prepared via polycondensation of diamines and dicarboxylic acids, wherein the homopolyamide has an enthalpy of fusion of at least 125 J/g and a recrystallization temperature of at least 148° C.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 25, 2011
Date of Patent: May 28, 2013
    Assignee: Evonik Degussa GmbH
Inventors: Sylvia Monsheimer, Franz-Erich Baumann, Maik Grebe, Joerg Lohmar

  • Patent number: 8066933
Abstract: The present invention relates to a polymer powder which comprises polyamide, and to the use of this powder for shaping processes, and also to moldings produced from this polymer powder. The shaping processes are layer-by-layer processes which use powders, where regions of the respective layer are selectively melted via introduction of electromagnetic energy. The selectivity may—with no intention of restricting the invention thereto—be achieved via masks, application of inhibitors, of absorbers, or of susceptors, or via focusing of the energy introduced. After cooling, the regions then solidified can be removed in the form of moldings from the powder bed.
    Type: Grant

Compared with moldings composed of conventional powders, the moldings constructed using the inventive powder by one of the inventive processes exhibit marked advantages in terms of component properties, particularly surface finish.

  • Patent number: 6861540
Abstract: The epoxidation of cyclic, at least monounsaturated alkenes is conducted by a process, which comprises conducting the epoxidation of a cyclic, at least monounsaturated alkene in the presence of an oxidant in a reaction medium that contains at least 1% by weight of the saturated cyclic alkane corresponding to the cyclic, at least monounsaturated alkene. In a preferred embodiment the reaction medium contains at least 2.5% by weight of the saturated cyclic alkane corresponding to the cyclic, at least monounsaturated alkene.

  • Patent number: 6828449
Abstract: Settling times of a catalyst in the epoxidation of a cyclic, at least monounsaturated alkene are improved by a method, comprising epoxidizing a cyclic, at least monounsaturated alkene having from 8 to 20 carbon atoms in the ring in a reaction medium containing an oxidant and a catalyst system comprising at least one metal of Groups 4, 5 and 6 of the Periodic Table of the Elements, phosphoric acid and a phase transfer catalyst and a cyclic alkane having from 8 to 20 carbon atoms in the ring, which corresponds to the alkene reactant, as settling accelerator in the epoxidation reaction.

Date of Patent: December 7, 2004
    Assignee: Degussa AG
