    Abstract: What is disclosed here is a transmitting and receiving means for ultrasonic waves, comprising a miniaturized ultrasonic generator which operates inendently on a battery and which is appropriate for accommodation in a small encapsulating case for medical examinations, as well as at least one ultrasonic receiver which is connected to an analyzer which determines, with resolution in terms of time, the distance between the ultrasonic generator and the ultrasonic receiver.
