  • Publication number: 20240073275
Abstract: A system and method for transferring host data from a host server to a user device during a KVM session, using an HTML5 KVM/virtual media client running in a Web browser of a user device, is disclosed. The user device may run a Web browser that allows the user to select an image file which then appears as a new drive letter (e.g., a virtual drive) on the server system to be managed. The system and method bypass the inability of the read-only virtual drives to transfer files back to the HTML client of the user device by modifying the original files received from the user device, which are packaged and sent back to the user device via the persistent sandbox. In this manner, important log files and other data files generated from the host server may be received by the user device via a user-friendly Web browser.

  • Publication number: 20230097472
Abstract: The present disclosure is a system and method for transmitting management data between a client computer and a remote device within a network. The system and method for transmitting management data between a client computer and a remote device within a network may include an adapter configured to receive a data stream from the client computer, separate the stream into user data and management data, and send the user data and the management data to different ports of the remote device. The adapter also includes a storage element capable of storing the management data and transmitting the management data to the remote device upon an input from the client computer.

  • Publication number: 20230042105
Abstract: A system and method for optimizing processing of keyboard/video/mouse (KVM) data in an internet protocol (IP) network environment receives via public interface access requests from users directed to KVM targets. The system includes a public and private virtual local area network (VLAN) linked by a bonded interface and general-purpose and optimized application containers. The general-purpose container initiates a KVM session and creates a network address translation (NAT) route (associated with an IP address visible to the user) and a dedicated interface via which the user may send KVM data directly and through the optimized application container, which prioritizes KVM data so it can pass without preemption through the private VLAN and to its intended KVM target in real-time or near real-time. The NAT route and external IP address may be reused for multiple access sessions to different KVM targets from the same user.

  • Publication number: 20230039059
Abstract: Systems and methods for establishing a KVM session are disclosed. The KVM session is designed to provide a communication channel between a client device and a target device without the use of an appliance. For example, the KVM session includes a virtualized KVM session in which the hardware and software used to create the communication channel are stored on a network-based device, as opposed to a multi-port appliance physically connected to the target device. A virtual KVM session eliminates the need for the target device to have a-priori knowledge related to the client device. The virtual KVM session can individually communicate with the client device and the target device, and negotiate a session between the client device and the target device prior to any communication between the target device and the client device. In some embodiments, the virtual KVM session uses out-of-band signaling and SIP to negotiate a session.

  • Publication number: 20230041190
Abstract: Systems and methods for managing refresh rates of applications running on a display device are disclosed. A computing device is designed to monitor and slow/reduce refresh rates for some applications running on the display device, while also allowing other applications to run at a fast/increased refresh rate. Each application is associated with a target device (e.g., server). The computing device can regulate a continuous stream of data, allowing some applications to access the data, while limiting/preventing other applications from accessing the data. The applications with access to the data can run at the fast refresh rates, while the remaining applications update at the slow refresh rates. As a result, the applications running at the fast refresh rates allow a user viewing the display device to actively monitor the respective servers associated with the fast-running applications, while reducing network load based on the relatively slow-running applications.

  • Patent number: 11075897
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for using a service processor to communicate with a remote component. The method may involve using the service processor of the device to discover a remote component connected to the device by a network. Once the remote component is discovered, the method may further involve using the service processor to establish a communications channel, using the network, with the remote device. The method may also involve using the service processor of the device to authenticate the remote component.

  • Publication number: 20170308137
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for managing an application of power from first and second power sources to a plurality of components mounted within an equipment rack. The method involves determining the number of components located within the equipment rack, and also determining a maximum power available from each of the first and second power sources. For each one of the components, first and second power budgets are determined. The first power budget represents an amount of power available to each one of the components when both of the first and second power sources are available for use, and the second power budget represents a power available to each when only the second power source is available for use.

  • Patent number: 6584432
Abstract: Disclosed is a diagnostic unit for a remote diagnosis of a data processing unit (DPU). The diagnostic unit is adapted to be coupled to a remote DPU via a network and to an internal bus of the DPU. The diagnostic unit includes a central processing unit (CPU) for controlling a diagnostic action and/or a monitoring action independently of the DPU, by monitoring a data communication within the DPU and/or of the DPU with external devices, and/or by performing tests with the DPU. An “intelligent” diagnosis of the DPU can thus be provided, allowing a continuous and on-going monitoring of the DPU independent of the functional state of the DPU.
