  • Publication number: 20190046957
Abstract: A process for regenerating an adsorbent for nitrogen-containing compounds present in a hydrocarbon feed comprising contacting the adsorbent with an inert gas at a temperature in the range of from 10 to 60° C., followed by contacting the adsorbent with an inert gas at an elevated temperature in the range of from 200 to 260° C. and cooling the adsorbent in an inert gas.

  • Patent number: 7435865
Abstract: A method for separating a mixture of hydrocarbons into fractions enriched in linear, mono-branched, or multi-branched hydrocarbons is disclosed. In particular, mono-branched alkanes are separated from a mixture of alkanes containing multi-branched, mono-branched and linear alkanes, by selectively adsorbing the mono-branched alkanes on a zeolitic adsorbent. The zeolitic adsorbent MCM-22 is particularly suitable for carrying out the method.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 17, 2004
Date of Patent: October 14, 2008
    Assignee: Vrije Universiteit Brussel
Inventors: Joeri Denayer, Refik Ocakoglu, Gino Baron

  • Patent number: 6679986
Abstract: A catalytic support includes a substantial quantity of at least one SVI group Periodic Table metal oxide in which is incorporated silica. The mass ratio between the quantity of SVI group metal oxide and the quantity of silica it contains ranges between 5 and 70, the SVI group metal oxide is in crystalline form, and the specific surface of the support is greater than or equal to 160 m2/g.

  • Patent number: 6448198
Abstract: The invention relates to an acid catalyst containing a substantial quantity of supported or mass sulfated zirconia and at least one hydrogenating transition metal. This catalyst is characterized by the fact that the sulfated zirconia is in crystallized form and that it shows a specific surface area greater than or equal to 135 m2/g, a pore volume greater than or equal to 0.16 cm3/g and an average pore diameter greater than or equal to 20 Angstroms (20×10−10 m). The invention also relates to methods of making this catalyst and to the uses of this catalyst in hydrocarbon transformation chemical reactions requiring the use of an acid type catalyst, such as for example, isomerization, alkylation, oligomerization reactions or even light hydrocarbon dehydration reactions, and also heavier hydrocarbon hydrocracking and hydroisomerization reactions. In a preferred embodiment of the method of the present invention, a hydrated zirconia gel is washed with a soluble polar organic solvent (other than water).
