  • Patent number: 10099319
Abstract: A device for connecting the ends of pipes, which are aligned, tack-welded and made of steel, by an orbital welding process using a welding joint formed by the pipe ends and using tools which can be orbitally moved about the welding joint for welding and checking the seam. The device includes guide base plates placed on both sides at each pipe end in the region of the welding joint and rigidly clamped to the pipe ends. The guide base plates centrally have a circular recess with a radial opening for the feed-through of the pipes to be welded. The guide base plates include clamping elements rigidly connected to each guide base plate face facing away from the welding joint, and a frame for receiving the welding and checking tools, the frame rotatably mounted between the guide base plates and centrally pivotal about the pipe ends by at least 360°.

  • Patent number: 9982410
Abstract: The foundation structure of an offshore structure, for example of an offshore wind energy system, is composed of steel tubes sheathed by an extruded layer made of a polyamide moulding composition. This simultaneously ensures both good protection from corrosion and good protection from mechanical effects, giving the foundation structure markedly prolonged lifetime.

  • Patent number: 9535040
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for testing connections of metal workpieces to plastic compounds for cavities by means of ultrasound, wherein the plastic compound is arranged between the workpiece as an intermediate layer or is connected to the workpiece on one side and the cavity is located within the plastic compound, wherein the cavity is connected to the workpiece by means of a remaining plastic layer or plastic skin and wherein the plastic compound is exposed to ultrasonic signals of a certain test frequency and pulse length from the metal side of the workpiece by means of at least one ultrasonic probe, and in particular the ultrasonic signals reflected by flaws in the plastic compound are detected by the same or another ultrasonic probe and converted into electrical signals that can be evaluated and subjected to a threshold observation. The test frequency of the ultrasonic signals is set in a range of 1 to 10 MHz so that the attenuation of the sound is minimal after passing through the plastic skin.

  • Patent number: 9134116
Abstract: A two-dimensional light-section method for measuring the profile geometry of cylindrical bodies is disclosed. A fan-shaped laser line forming a light-section line on the surface of the body is imaged with at least one laser, and the laser radiation reflected from the surface of the body is captured by at least one area imaging camera, wherein the laser and the camera are arranged at a triangulation angle in a normal plane aligned with the cylinder axis. The profile geometry is then measured by pivoting the laser out of the normal plane about the cylinder axis. The angle with respect to the normal plane is selected such that the optical axis of the area imaging camera with respect to the surface of the cylinder is located within the glancing angle range of the reflected beams.
