Publication number: 20240092749Abstract: A process for the epoxidation of propene involves reacting propene with hydrogen peroxide, in the presence of a methanol solvent and a shaped titanium zeolite epoxidation catalyst in a fixed bed reactor. The process then involves recovering methanol from the reaction mixture, treatment of the recovered methanol by passing it through a bed of an acidic ion exchange resin, and recycling the treated methanol to the epoxidation reaction; as well as regeneration of the acidic ion exchange resin. Catalyst breakage can be reduced or avoided by washing the regenerated bed of an acidic ion exchange resin with methanol until the methanol exiting the resin bed has an apparent pH higher than 1.8, before methanol treated with the acidic ion exchange resin is recycled to the epoxidation reaction.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 26, 2022Publication date: March 21, 2024Applicants: Evonik Operations GmbH, thyssenkrupp Uhde GmbHInventors: Maik BERNHARD, Sören Götz, Marc Brendel, Johan Anton, Matthias Pascaly, Thomas Noll, Jürgen Schemel

Publication number: 20160271321Abstract: A directional sheath for use in angiography, thrombectomy and/or chemotherapy procedures. The sheath includes a distal end and proximal end, defines aperture(s) between the ends, and includes an occlusion balloon adjacent the distal end. An inflation lumen is in fluid communication with the balloon, so the balloon can be inflated to occlude a blood vessel. The sheath can include a dilator. In one method, the sheath is inserted in a blood vessel, and the balloon is inflated to occlude it. A substance is introduced through the sheath, while the distal end remains occluded by a dilator distal end. The substance passes a dilator intermediate portion and exits the sheath through the apertures, whereby the substance is introduced retrograde in the blood vessel. In another method, the sheath is introduced into a vessel having a thrombus, the balloon is inflated to occlude it, and the thrombus is pulled into the sheath.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 16, 2016Publication date: September 22, 2016Inventors: Christopher Michael Chambers, Louis Johan-Anton Weijers
