  • Publication number: 20230128571
Abstract: The present invention is an automated separation system comprised of a liquid handling device and one or more pipette tip columns, wherein the liquid handling device is equipped with two or more nozzles arranged to respectively receive a pipette tip column comprising separation media. Further, the system includes means for applying either high positive or negative pressure to the column inside chamber above the column bed, enabling aspiration and dispensing into and out of each pipette tip column. To enable sealing to the pressures used to move liquid through the column bed without inadvertently ejecting the column from the nozzle during the separation process, each nozzle has been provided with at least one annular protrusion arranged to engage with the inside of a substantially evenly tapered pipette tip column, without any corresponding recess. Each nozzle may be provided with slide ejector to enable the removal of a pipette tip column.

  • Patent number: 11577178
Abstract: The present invention relates to evaporation apparatus (100) comprising manifolds provided with at least one nozzle (102), a tank unit (103) for a liquid, and a sample holder configured to be inserted into the tank unit. The sample holder is configured to hold at least one sample in a defined position relative the at least one nozzle a control unit (104) an inlet port (105) configured to be connected to a gas supply, a pressure regulator (106) arranged downstream the inlet port (105). A set value of the pressure regulator (106) is controlled by the control unit (104), a control valve (107) arranged downstream the pressure regulator (106), wherein each of the at least one manifold (101a-d) is connected to a corresponding output port of the control valve. The control valve is controlled by the control unit (104), and the control unit is configured to set the set value of the pressure regulator to a value that causes a predetermined gas flow from each of the at least one nozzle.

  • Publication number: 20180326414
Abstract: A flow control device, a system and a method are disclosed. The flow control device comprises a displaceable means (101) having a direction of displacement and being displaceable between a first position and a second position. The flow control device further comprises a body (110) comprising a first cavity (102) in fluid contact with a first side of the displaceable means (102) forming a first volume. The first cavity further comprising a first inlet (103), a primary outlet (104) with a primary flow resistance and arranged essentially parallel with the displacement direction, wherein the primary outlet comprises an inlet opening (105) facing the displaceable means at a first distance (106) from the displaceable means in the direction of displacement, a secondary outlet (107) with a secondary flow resistance, wherein the displaceable means is displaceable between a first position and a second position.

  • Publication number: 20060285509
Abstract: Measuring latency in computer systems, such as electronic trading systems, communicating with a plurality of clients by means of multicasting via a communication network. A sending host has a sending application adapted to distribute messages to a receiving application of a receiving host of a client. The method includes: providing a message to be sent from the sending application to the receiving application with a time stamp indicating the point of time the message was sent; transferring the message together with the time stamp from a multicast framework of the sending host to a multicast framework of the receiving host; extracting the time stamp from the message when the message is received by a receiving application of the receiving host; and comparing the point of time indicated by the extracted time stamp with a current time of the receiving host in order to calculate a latency for the message.

  • Publication number: 20060288094
Abstract: A method, system, computer readable medium, and/or a computer program product for electronic trading systems. A cache memory of a computer network system communicating with a plurality of clients via communication network is configured. The system includes a processing means adapted to process incoming messages from the clients and a publishing means. The configuration includes making at least one copy of the messages to be published by means of multicasting; storing the copies in a cache memory of the publishing means; providing each copy with a time stamp indicating the point of time the corresponding message was sent; and removing a copy from the cache memory when the copy has been stored a predetermined period of time.

  • Patent number: 5801367
Abstract: A travel registration arrangement including a travel pass unit for general communication, e.g. by train, by air, by sea, by bus. The unit (15) includes a processor, a write and erasable memory unit connected to the processor, a display window (2) and keys that can be manipulated by a traveller provided with the travel pass. The system includes a station (10) for issuing the travel pass unit. A traveller who wishes to obtain a travel pass is registered in the station together with a code number which is unique to the unit (15) and which is written into a fixed memory. Data relating to the traveller is written into the writable memory unit of the travel pass and, on the occasion of issue, possibly also data relating to the journey or route concerned. Data relating to the issued travel pass is stored in a data base (11), together with information relating to the journey or route concerned. A plurality of terminals (17-20) which include travel pass unit readers/writers are connected to the data base (11).
