Publication number: 20240094827Abstract: Systems and techniques are described for robust radar-based gesture-recognition. A radar system detects radar-based gestures on behalf of application subscribers. A state machine transitions between multiple states based on inertial sensor data. A no-gating state enables the radar system to output radar-based gestures to application subscribers. The state machine also includes a soft-gating state that prevents the radar system from outputting the radar-based gestures to the application subscribers. A hard-gating state prevents the radar system from detecting radar-based gestures altogether. The techniques and systems enable the radar system to determine when not to perform gesture-recognition, enabling user equipment to automatically reconfigure the radar system to meet user demand. By so doing, the techniques conserve power, improve accuracy, or reduce latency relative to many common techniques and systems for radar-based gesture-recognition.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 28, 2023Publication date: March 21, 2024Applicant: Google LLCInventors: Jung Ook Hong, Patrick M. Patent number: 9621202Abstract: Antenna diversity integrated circuit having two or more RF input connections for connecting an antenna (1a, 1b, 1c). A low noise amplifier circuit is present having a first stage (7a, 7b, 7c) for each one of the two or more RF input connections and a single second stage (8). Output connections of each of the first stages (7a, 7b, 7c) are combined in a single summing node to which an inductor (L) and an input connection of the second stage (8) are connected. During operation one of the two or more first stages (7a, 7b, 7c) is activated to provide an input signal to the second stage (8).Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2013Date of Patent: April 11, 2017Assignee: GreenPeak Technologies B.V.Inventors: Johan David van der Tang, Anne Stellinga

Publication number: 20160228049Abstract: As may be implemented with one or more embodiments herein, aspects of the disclosure are directed to an apparatus having one or more sensor circuits and a wound-characterization circuit that generates data that characterizes a condition of the wound based on physiological characteristics detected by the sensors. A wireless communication circuit wirelessly transmits the characterization data, which can be carried out while the wound is covered. In various implementations, an integration circuit (e.g., connecting circuitry and/or a chip) includes the wound-characterization circuit and the sensor circuit, and further couples to a wound dressing for sensing the different physiological characteristics of the wound while the wound dressing covers a portion of the wound from which the different physiological characteristics are sensed.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 6, 2015Publication date: August 11, 2016Inventors: Axel Nackaerts, Filip Frederix, Stefan De Troch, Johan David

Patent number: 6394641Abstract: Apparatus for the preparation of gas mixtures includes cylinder which is divided into two chambers by means of a fixed central barrier. This barrier has a central orifice for receiving a rod which has central portion of diameter corresponding with the diameter of the orifice. The rod has end portions which pass through end plates of the cylinder and these end portions have a small diameter than that of the central portion, the diameters of the end portions being equal. A valved passage for the gases of either chamber to be transferred to the other chamber is provided in the barrier and a stepper motor is used to move the rod over small distances; with means to introduce or withdraw gas from either chamber.Type: GrantFiled: April 10, 2001Date of Patent: May 28, 2002Assignee: Technology Finance Corporation (PTY), Ltd.Inventor: Johan David Raal

Publication number: 20020008590Abstract: Described is a quadrature HF ring oscillator (1) comprising at least two cascaded filters (2, 3) each having a filter output (O1, O2) to be coupled to a quadrature load (ZI, ZQ), each of the two filters (2, 3) comprises an isolating amplifier (T5-T8) coupled between the filter output (O1, O2) and the quadrature load (ZI, ZQ). Advantageously the isolating amplifier forms a buffer between the oscillating core of the oscillator oscillating in the GHz range and the quadrature load, so that output frequency and amplitude are less influenced by the load.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 21, 2001Publication date: January 24, 2002Inventors: Johan David Van Der Tang, Wolfdietrich Georg Kasperkovitz

Patent number: 5983365Abstract: To test the processing of a data frame processing unit (FPU) which, in a normal working mode, processes input data frames applied to a data frame input (FI) thereof, the data frame processing unit (FPU) is brought in a test mode. Therefore, an active test signal is applied to a test mode control input (TCI) of this data frame processing unit (FPU). When brought in the test mode, the frame counters of the data frame processing unit (FPU) have lower limits and test data frames with smaller dimensions than the input data frames applied to the data frame input (FI).Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 1996Date of Patent: November 9, 1999Assignee: Alcatel N.V.Inventors: Daniel Frans Jozefina Van de Pol, Erik Moerman, Johan David, Johannes Anthonius Maria Van Tetering
