  • Patent number: 10348601
Abstract: A method for managing active measurements for determining performance parameters in a communication network comprises obtaining of a maximum permitted subsession duration and obtaining of time margins. The method further comprises determining whether or not a critical resource involved in the active measurement is active due to other activities than active measurements. If the determination concluded that the critical resource is active, a sending of an ensemble of packets of a subsession of an active measurement session is initiated. If there is an intended next subsession of the active measurement session and if a time since a last ensemble of packets was sent exceeds a sleep-init time comprised in the time margins, at least the determining and, if permitted, the initiating a sending of an ensemble of packets of the next subsession of the active measurement session is repeated.

  • Patent number: 7733767
Abstract: A system and method for correlating alarms from a plurality of network elements (NEs) are provided to unambiguously associate separate alarms to one another. This is accomplished by a method where a fault identifier FID is generated by a serving NE who discovered the faulty hardware or software unit. The serving NE signals its lost or degraded service to a client NE in a traffic message and appends the generated FID to the traffic message. The client NE extracts the FID from the traffic message and appends it to a service alarm which the NE sends to a network management system. The serving NE also generates an alarm message and provides it with same FID. The serving NE sends the alarm message and its FID to the network management system. The service alarm and the alarm message received by the network management system will thus contain the same FID. In the management system the FID is used to correlate the two alarms with one another.

  • Patent number: 6557398
Abstract: A method of measuring the liquid retention of absorbent articles (20) of the kind that includes an absorbent body having a top side which lies proximal to the wearer's skin when the article is worn, and a bottom side which is covered by a liquid-impermeable backing sheet, wherein the method comprises the steps of applying a determined amount of liquid to a region on the top side of the article, urging a pressure body (1) against a region of the top side of the article with a given force, and collecting and measuring the amount of liquid pressed out from the top side of the article. The force with which the pressure body (1) is pressed against the top side of the article, is set selectively on a device (2-4) for pressing the pressure body against the top side of the article (20), and the liquid pressed from the top side of the article is transported to a measuring vessel (15) with the aid of sub-pressure.

  • Patent number: 6018532
Abstract: An improved method and apparatus for transmitting data between a transceiver and transcoder pair of a cellular radio system is disclosed. A pair of transceiver-transcoder-links normally transmitted on two separate channels are broken into a series of four bit data segments which are multiplexed together into series of eight bit timeslots for transmission between a transceiver and a transcoder pair.
