    Abstract: A handling and storage system for large metal sheets in which a magnet vehicle equipped with magnetic grippers and a sheet collector conveys sheets to and from storage locations in passages between pairs of rails. A transfer vehicle that travels along a path crosswise to the rails carries the magnet vehicle from any one pair of rails to another for travel thereover, thereby providing access to all storage locations.
