An auction method is selected based on the values representing a relationship between the seller and the bidders. The selected auction method is performed for the purpose of selling an item of the seller at a winning bid quoted by any of the bidders.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for performing a caller investigation in order to provide relation information to a called party (200) regarding an unknown calling party (202), when implemented in a service entity (204) serving said called party. A relation query for the calling party is received from the called party, and it is then determined whether the calling party is known and related to any third party directly or indirectly known to the called party by checking a contact list (210-214) defined for said third party. The reliability of the calling party can then be better assessed based on how the calling party is related to the called party, if related at all. The called party may use this information for deciding how to respond to a communication request from said calling party.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for enabling user services in a communication network with a plurality of terminal users. An initiating user terminal (200) executes a group discovery process with the terminals (202) to form a user group. Capabilities are exchanged with the terminals, including at least one of: functional resources, available services, equipment information, applications or data programs, and current traffic or connection characteristics When a group service request (R) is received from a user terminal (D) in the group, functions and actions required for the requested service are assigned to functional resources in the terminals based on the exchanged terminal capabilities. Hereby context information relating to the vehicle environment can be automatically communicated to the service backend. Also context information from the service backend can be provided to the vehicle environment all utilizing SIP Presence technologies. The invention can in accordance with one embodiment be implemented in an IMS system. In accordance with one embodiment a communications device comprising gateway can be provided in the form of a mobile communications device, such as a mobile telephone. The gateway can for example be an IMS gateway.

Abstract: A method and system allow applying policies to service requests for information or a session, which are created by communications devices and are intended to be sent to service providers over a network. The policies govern the extent to which details about the communications devices sending the requests are released or revealed to that service provider. After amount of capabilities corresponding to the extent allowed by the polity is determined and provided in the service request, the service request is sent over the network to the service provider. Policy based disclosure of communications device capabilities information may be applied in local network embodiments, such as a home or small office network including local sever and residential gateway functions.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of location databases containing position related information, and specifically to a method of providing quick and accurate response to users requesting location dependant data from such database. This speed-up in response is done by storing information that is related to most probable path for travelling users on top of database stack and therefore is easy to find and sent to requesting users.

Abstract: An IMS node communicating with a user node and an information node is provided. The information node is adapted to conduct access control based on IMS Public User Identity. The IMS node comprises: request mediation means for mediating an access request from the user node to the information node by converting a first protocol conforming to IMS into a second protocol interpretable to the information node; and response mediation means for mediating an access response from the information node to the user node by converting the second protocol into the first protocol. The access request includes the IMS Public User Identity and information identity specifying information which the information node is requested to retrieve.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for obtaining context information from a context server maintaining a context for an object of interest in a telecommunication network. The context server receives raw context data from sensors associated with the object of interest. A request is received from a requesting party for refined context information with reference to the object of interest. Individual context data is collected for at least one individual entity of the requesting party. A customized rule is created on the basis of the received individual context data. The rule defines conditions in an adapted request for refined context information regarding the object of interest, which is sent, including the customized rule, to the context server of the object of interest. Context data refined according to the customized rule is then received from the context server.

Abstract: Systems and methods according to the present invention address this need and others by providing methods and systems for translating media encrypted by various Digital Rights Management (DRM) techniques. This allows end user equipment to receive media in an IMS/IPTV environment when the end user equipment uses a DRM that is different from the media server which is providing the desired media in both unicast and multicast applications.

Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for generating information for use, for example, in a vehicle for guidance of driver. Information is described by information object specifications determined in part from compiled data related to the vehicle and its immediate environment, navigation area, target area, and user profile. An analysis and control part (320, 340) of the system creates information objects, optionally assigns priority to the same, and assigns a medium for presentation of an information object. A system state may be determined related to current use of available media. An information object of high priority can cause the control part to reallocate a medium to allow presentation of the high priority information object. The system may further determine need for format transcoding to allow presentation of information on the most appropriate medium.

Abstract: A method for selecting television content in mobile television communications is provided. Descriptions of predefined possible video sequences (112) is transmitted from a video system (110) to a selection server (120). The selection server collects information on user preferences with regard to video, e.g. from a user profile holding unit (140). User preference information may also be expressed through user votes in a voting process related to the television event. The selection server uses the descriptions of the alternative video sequences and the user preference information to determine an output video sequence for at least one mobile terminal (130) in the communication system. The video output system is instructed to output the determined television content.

Abstract: The present invention involves a user agent (100) requesting a cookie-associated resource over Internet from a content provider (200) on behalf of a user. In response thereto, the content provider (200) transmits a privacy policy file, describing the content provider's policy regarding usage of cookies and privacy data in connection with the resource, to the user agent (100). The agent (100) then generates a cookie receipt specifying whether the user accepts the policy and, thus, accepts that the content provider sets a cookie on the user equipment (300) The receipt is transmitted to the content provider (200), e.g. in the HTTP header of a get resource message. If a negative receipt, a cookie-less version of the resource if provided to the user equipment (300).
