  • Patent number: 9989109
Abstract: A method is provided for calibrating a control algorithm of a clutch control unit of a vehicle. The method includes requesting, clutch disengagement or engagement, monitoring clutch actuator position, determining a time interval that starts with the clutch disengagement or engagement request and ends when the clutch actuator has reached a predetermined position, and calibrating an estimated time interval of the control algorithm starting with clutch disengagement or engagement request and ending when the clutch actuator has reached a predetermined position based on the determined time interval. A computer program for implementing the method, as well as a vehicle comprising a clutch control unit calibrated according to the method, are also provided.

  • Patent number: 9912608
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method and system for minimizing the required bandwidth for a cloud based unicast communication with a vehicle operating within a road network, where the cloud comprises a cloud logic and the vehicle comprises a vehicle internal logic. The method comprising the steps of: determining a current position with direction of the vehicle within the road network; setting an interval at which the vehicle is to report an update on its position based on a most probable path of the vehicle and the complexity thereof, where the most probable path is a set of possible paths a predetermined distance ahead of the vehicle that it is most probable to travel along given its current position with direction within the road network; communicating the set interval to the vehicle internal logic; and reporting an updated current position of the vehicle to the cloud with the set reporting interval.

  • Patent number: 8182395
Abstract: A method for adapting a drive train based upon a PTO load is provided. The method includes continually during vehicle driving determining a torque magnitude indicative of said power take off unit's torque consumption by sensing a fluid pressure produced by a power take off fluid pump. The sensed power take off unit torque consumption is continually compared with an output torque produced by a prime mover. Using the difference from said output torque expected value and the measured PTO torque consumption, a control unit adjusts transmission shifting (if automatic) of a transmission and/or prime mover control because the PTO will cause the prime mover to lose some of its available torque. Based on the PTO load, the engine control will selected the appropriate prime mover torque production and the transmission control unit will select the appropriate start gear, upshift gears, and downshift gears.
