  • Patent number: 8807296
Abstract: A brake unit, preferably for a rail vehicle, including in a housing: a piston, and a push rod in the form of a spindle in an axial slack adjuster. The axial directions of the piston and the push rod are substantially perpendicular to each other, and means are provided for force transmission between these parts. The force transmitting means includes wedge elements at the underside of the piston cooperating with a driver element coaxial with and force-transmittingly connected to the spindle. The driver element is supported with rolling friction by the housing for movements in the axial direction of the spindle, and the spindle is axially guided by the housing at its forward end.

  • Patent number: 8608107
Abstract: A system for automatic or auto pilot controlled landing of air vehicle (2) with an undercarriage (10) with a substantially plane lower side, at a stationary or mobile landing place is described. The system is primarily characterized in that the landing plate is settable after two axes in roll and pitch, by a set mean controlled in relationship to the air vehicle and the horizontal plane. The air vehicle (2) and the landing plate (3) are provided with transmitter and receiver which define and communicate the mutual distance and the relative angles between the landing plate (3) and the undercarriage (10). Said set means is arranged to set said two axes such that the landing plate (3) will be substantially parallel to the lower side of the undercarriage (10).

  • Patent number: 8225249
Abstract: A static formal verification tool is used to test properties for a circuit design, where the properties are written in a verification language, such as SystemVerilog, that allows local variables. The use of local variables presents implementation challenges for static formal verification tools because it requires multiple instances of the local variables to be tracked during the verification process. To deal with local variables, the static formal verification tool translates a property containing local variables into an optimized, statically allocated data structure that does not need multiple representation of different instances of the local variables. The formal verification is then performed using the data structure. This reduces the verification complexity and makes the size of the problem representation predictable.

  • Patent number: 8103999
Abstract: The result of a property based formal verification analysis of a circuit design may include at least one counterexample for each property that is violated, which a user can use to debug the circuit design. To assist the user in this debugging process, a debugging tool displays the counterexample trace annotated in such a way to illustrate where the property violation occurs and what parts of this trace contributes to the property violation. The debugging tool thus facilitates understanding of what parts of the counterexample trace are responsible for the property failure. The user can then select any of those contributing points as a starting point for further debugging.

  • Patent number: 8006812
Abstract: A disc brake caliper for a rail vehicle comprises brake pad holders suspended—at either side of a brake disc to be braked—for movements only in a plane perpendicular to a substantially horizontal center-line of the caliper. Members of the caliper for transmitting movements from a brake unit to the brake pad holders are suspended from the vehicle via only elements of rubber-elastic material in an elastic joint allowing movements to a certain extent of said members in all directions. The elastic joint comprises at least one plate-shaped rubber-elastic element, which is substantially horizontally mounted in compression between a part for attachment to the vehicle and one of said members of the caliper.

  • Patent number: 7702245
Abstract: Utility data modulation is superimposed on a payload data modulator optical signal by exploiting spread spectrum techniques by virtue of one embodiment of the present invention. Utility data transmission rates of e.g., 200 Kbps, can be achieved without impairment to payload data transmission. The utility data modulated signal spectrum overlaps or is entirely within the payload data modulation spectrum, therefore, overcoming problems with optical amplifier gain control and pink noise.

  • Patent number: 6063294
Abstract: A uniform area shower for use with a disc filter. The disc filter includes at least one disc and moving showers that periodically remove a precoat layer of solids from the surface of the disc. In one embodiment the uniform area shower comprises a oscillating shower that is pivotly mounted and travels radially over the disc. In an alternative embodiment the uniform area shower comprises a traversing shower that mounts to a carriage and travels radially over the disc. Each shower includes a controller controlling the drive mechanism to vary the speed of transport of the shower across the surface of the disc such that time spent by the shower cleaning the disc at each radial cleaning position is generally proportional to the radial distance of the cleaning position from the center of the disc so that a wash liquid is applied to a uniform area of the interior and exterior of the disc.

  • Patent number: 5968372
Abstract: A high pressure automatic lime mud precoat filter cake heel removal system provides for steady kiln operation. The system provides multiple points of washing located such that washing of the entire filter can be accomplished in a short period of time. Each washing point comprises preferably two nozzles at predetermined angles to optimize washing of the filter media. The system is reciprocatively driven by a fractional horsepower gear motor connected to a torque converting coupling which is, in turn, connected to a threaded jack shaft or lead screw. The gear motor is controlled by a dual speed reversing variable frequency drive; limit switches automatically control cycling of the system in conjunction with logic circuits and sensors. This system is variably controlled so that cycle times may range optionally from approximately one to approximately five hours in length.
