  • Patent number: 9332570
Abstract: A network node that serves a cell in a cellular communication system is operated. An air interface of the cellular communication system is divided up into sequentially occurring frames, each of the frames comprising a plurality of sequentially occurring sub-frames, each of the sub-frames comprising a plurality of sequentially occurring symbols. Operation includes receiving and detecting a request signal transmitted by a device within the cell. Based at least in part on a characteristic of the request signal that is indicative of one or more device capabilities of the device, an associated time/frequency position for transmitting a response signal is ascertained. The response signal is transmitted at the ascertained time/frequency position.

  • Publication number: 20150240935
Abstract: A transfer case is provided with a primary shaft which is selectively engagable with a secondary shaft via a clutch mechanism. The clutch mechanism is inclusive of a friction pack. A hub of the clutch mechanism is connected on the primary shaft and the clutch housing is torsionally fixed with a primary sprocket rotatively mounted on the primary shaft. A passive or active controlled lubricant collection receptacle is provided which maximize fluid retention in conditions wherein there is not a high demand of torque for the clutch system of the transfer case thereby minimizing fluid that is unnecessarily churned by engagement with the hub connected with the secondary shaft.

  • Publication number: 20150236804
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) in a cellular telecommunications system is able to detect the uplink/downlink configuration of a detected neighboring cell by receiving a signal from the neighboring cell. A characteristic of the received signal is detected and used as an indicator in a blind detection process to identify one or more downlink slots in the received signal. Known pilot signals in the identified one or more downlink slots can then be used to obtain a signal power measurement of the received signal. The blind detection process is also capable of detecting whether a slot of a neighboring cell's signal is a downlink unicast slot or a Multicast-Broadcast Single Frequency Network slot.

  • Patent number: 9094915
Abstract: A method in a communication device and a communication device (100) for adapting a transmission of data are provided. The transmission is transferred from a first chip (110) to a second chip (120) over a chip-to-chip interface (104, 304). The chip-to-chip-interface comprises a wired connection between the first chip and the second chip which is comprised in the communication device. The communication device receives (201) the radio signal (330), comprising the transmission of data from another communication device. The communication device determines (202), from the received radio signal (330), modulation and coding information, which is used for determining (203) a channel quality. Further, the communication device (100) adapts (204) the transmission of data based on the determined channel quality of the received radio signal (330) in such way that at least the determined channel quality is obtained when transferring (205) the transmission of data over the chip-to-chip interface to the second chip.

  • Patent number: 9094809
Abstract: A technique for managing activity states of at least two subscriptions in a terminal device is described. A method implementation of this technique performed in the terminal device comprises the steps of monitoring whether a first subscription is to transit or has transit from a first active state to a second active state while at least one second subscription is in a detached state, wherein the second active state is associated with a lower terminal activity than the first active state, if the result of the monitoring step is affirmative, waiting for a predetermined period of time, upon elapse of the predetermined period of time, if the first subscription is still in the second active state, triggering a transition of the first subscription from the second active state to an inactive state and initiating for the at least one second subscription a transition from a detached state to an inactive state.

  • Patent number: 9084208
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for changing the transmission/reception setup of a base station (BS) in a communication network to another transmission/reception setup (such as one using fewer transmit antennas and/or lower channel bandwidths) without affecting communication with user equipments involve “replacing” the existing BS with a “virtual” BS that has the other transmission/reception setup. Replacement can be performed by, for example, ramping down the power of the existing, or first, BS, which has a respective first cell identification (ID), and simultaneously ramping up the power of the virtual, or second, BS, which has a respective second cell ID.
