Patent number: 8028656Abstract: The present invention relates to devices and components for milking apparatus, in particular to milk extracting devices. Especially it relates to components of such devices such as liners (20). The novel devices include a material, selected from the group consisting of thermo-plastic elastomers, as defined in ISO 18064, plasticized PVC, Vinyl TPE, the material exhibiting the following properties: a hardness between 25 shore A and 50 shore D; a Young's modulus between 0.1 MPa and 50 MPa; a tensile strength above 0.5 MPa; and a minimum elongation of 50% without breakage.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2003Date of Patent: October 4, 2011Assignee: DeLaval Holding ABInventors: Mikael Gisslegård, Torbjörn Pettersson, Johan Odeberg, Nils Älveby, Martin Bellander

Patent number: 7992519Abstract: An arrangement is provided in a milking system for simultaneous milking of a plurality of milking animals, wherein the milking system comprises a plurality of milking positions (P1-P24) and an arrangement for establishing identities of and expected milking times for the milking animals. Each of the milking positions is provided with teat cups, which are attached to the teats of a milking animal and are connected to a source of vacuum to milk the milking animal. The inventive arrangement comprises means (10) for determining a milking position, at which the milking animal having the longest expected milking time is present, based on the established identities and expected milking times; and a device (11, 13, 17; 20) for performing an action with respect to the milking system in response to the determination.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 2007Date of Patent: August 9, 2011Assignee: Delaval Holding ABInventors: Johan Odeberg, Otto Hellekant, Raza Mehinovic, Magnus Storbjörk, Louise Kullgren, Torbjörn Petterson, Christoffer Hägglund, Stefan Irhsén, Helmut Obermüller, Robert Jonsson, Souren Kerikorian, Gary Aldgård, Gösta Forsén

Patent number: 7856942Abstract: A milking device includes at least a teat-receiving flexible sleeve, adapted to be positioned on/over a teat. A first portion thereof includes a material, selected from the group consisting of thermo-plastic elastomers (TPE), as defined in ISO 18064, and a second portion thereof includes a material selected from the group consisting of thermoplastics. The method of making a milking device, in particular a teat cup liner, is a molding process carried out in two or more steps. In the first step, a thermoplastic, preferably polypropylene (PP) or polyamide (PA), is injected in a mold defining only those portions of the device that are to exhibit a higher stiffness or rigidity, such as couplings. The stiffer parts, are demolded from the mold, and placed in a second mold, into which, as a second molding step, a suitable TPE is injected. Further steps can be performed if required by the design.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 2005Date of Patent: December 28, 2010Assignee: DeLaval Holding ABInventors: Torbjorn Pettersson, Jan Kassibrahim, Johan Odeberg

Publication number: 20090320759Abstract: An arrangement is provided in a milking system for simultaneous milking of animals comprising milking positions (P1-P24), each of which being provided with teat cups, which are attached to the teats of an animal and are connected to a source of vacuum to milk the animal. The arrangement comprises a processing device (10) for gathering and processing information of the milking of the animals, and terminal units (13) arranged at the milking positions and connected to the processing device (10). The processing device is provided for (i) receiving a user identity; (ii) retrieving a user specific setting based on the received user identity, said user specific setting defining user specific information of the milking of the animals; and (iii) transmitting information of the milking of the animals to the terminal units defined by the retrieved user specific setting. The terminal units output automatically the information received from the processing device.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 17, 2007Publication date: December 31, 2009Inventors: Johan Odeberg, Otto Hellekant, Raza Mehinovic, Magnus Storbjörk, Louise Kullgren, Torbjörn Petterson, Christoffer Hägglund, Stefan Irhsén, Helmut Obermüller, Robert Jonsson, Souren Kerikorian, Gary Aldgrdå, Gösta Forsén
