The subset of the plurality of functions is operated on the accessory device using the transferred executable program code, content data files and functional setting information from the handheld device after disconnecting the communication link between the handheld device and the accessory device.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a metallurgical ladle and more particularly to the bottom of the ladle having an outlet through which the molten metal can drain. An object of the present invention is to increase the efficiency of a ladle draining operation, including reducing the amount of discarded metal, avoiding the premature flow of slag through the outlet, and reducing the contamination of slag in the molten metal effluent. The ladle bottom comprises a plurality of terraces and flow channels, ultimately directing the stream of molten metal to an outlet of the ladle. The terraces are described as capturing slag and the channels permit molten metal to flow preferentially through the outlet.

The transmitter system transmits information modules (5) which each relate to an information region and which are characterised by a region-identification code (ID1, ID2 etc.). The information system comprises means for transmitting, upon entry by a vehicle of an information region, to the data receiver in said vehicle the region-identification code of said region, the data receiver setting itself using said region-identification code for receiving information characterised by said region-information code, transmitted by the transmitter system. The region-identification code in the data receiver may be set using regional or local beacon transmitters (4) which transmit one or two region-identification codes.

    Abstract: A touch screen 1111 having an active surface area 1112 which extends in three physical dimensions (x-, y- and z-dimensions) is provided. In the figure the active surface area has an U-shaped form. When a user slides his finger over the active surface area the tactile feedback gives him information about the position of the finger. The touch screen is activated when the active surface area senses a certain pressure from the finger. The use of the touch screen is facilitated especially when the user is on the move or when the touch screen is out of sight. Such use is common when operating hand-held terminals.
