    Abstract: A method performed by an intermediate unit of a distributed base station system of a wireless communication network. The distributed base station system has a first base unit and a second base unit connected to the intermediate unit. The intermediate unit is further connected to a first remote unit, which is further connected for distributing wireless signals to pieces of User Equipment (UEs). The intermediate unit receives, from the first base unit, first data and sends the first data over a point-to-point connection to the first remote unit for further distribution wirelessly over a radio channel to the UEs. In response to the reception of the first data, a first indication is sent to the second base unit that the radio channel is free. The second base unit can send second data that is then to be sent from the remote unit towards the UEs on the radio channel.

Embodiments of the AP-performed method can include determining one or more Clear Channel Assessment Thresholds (CCATs) for data to be transmitted to the wireless device, wherein each CCAT is associated with a particular Quality of Service (QoS) category of the data. Such embodiments can also include determining whether the channel is busy or free based on the determined one or more CCATs and based on signals or energy detected on the channel and, based on determining that the channel is free, transmitting the data to the wireless device. In some embodiments, the data can be transmitted to the wireless device while further data is being transmitted on the channel.

The first and second wireless AP nodes are arranged to operate on the same RF channel. The method comprises configuring a first priority level of the first wireless AP node in relation to a second priority level of the second wireless AP node, which first and second priority levels are priority levels for accessing the RF channel. The method further comprises transmitting, to a wireless device 108 associated with the first wireless AP node, data via the RF channel in dependence of the first priority level. Thereby, the radio resource usage is controlled. According to some embodiments, the priority level is set based on negotiations between the first and second wireless AP nodes.

The defer list is based on a first defer list received from and created by the receiving node. The transmitting node senses a wireless channel in the wireless communications network. When the transmitting node intends to transmit data to the receiving node, the transmitting node defers channel access to the sensed wireless channel for the data transmission when one or more conditions are fulfilled. The one or more conditions comprise at least that one or more nodes are sensed as communicating and are on the defer list.
