Publication number: 20240286138Abstract: An apparatus is for moving a sample holder on a platform from a loading position where the sample holder can be removed from the platform to a locked position where the sample holder is securely held. The sample holder is configured to rest on wheels within a recessed portion on the platform. The apparatus is configured such that: (i) movement of the platform from the loading position to the locked position causes a vertical clamp to lower down on top of the sample holder, and a horizontal clamp to be pressed to an outer periphery of the sample holder; and (ii) movement of the platform from the locked position to the loading position causes the vertical clamp to rise above the sample holder, and the horizontal clamp to be moved away from the outer periphery of the sample holder.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 10, 2024Publication date: August 29, 2024Applicant: Q-LINEA ABInventors: Anders Lind, Henrik Soderstrom, Henrik Svanberg, Jan Grawe, Johan Skaborn

Patent number: 6948541Abstract: System for handling components in connection with circuit board assembly in a component mounting machine. The system comprises a number of component tapes provided on component tape reels, and a number of tape guides arranged for receiving component tapes of a given component tape width and for bringing the component tape in position for feeding of the component tape and for picking components from the component tape in the component mounting machine. The tape guides have a similar geometrical outline and basic configuration, and each tape guide comprises a component exposure device for exposing a component at a picking position by removing the portion of the cover tape covering the component. The tape guides are divided into sub-sets of tape guides, wherein the tape guides of each individual sub-set have component exposure devices of the same design, which design is dependent on the configurations of the component tapes intended for that sub-set of tape guides.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 2004Date of Patent: September 27, 2005Assignee: Mydata Automation ABInventors: Johan Bergstrom, Maria Liljegren, Johan Skaborn

Patent number: 5895630Abstract: To interrupt the current to the drive motor (3) of a motor-driven arm (1) which carries a pipette (2) when something or someone unintentionally contacts the pipette (2) during its movement, the arm 1) has a lower, rigid part (5), and an upper, flexible part (6) which, at its one end, carries the pipette (2) and, at its other end, is rigidly connected to the lower arm part (5). The upper, flexible part (6) is in releasable contact with the lower, rigid part (5) at the end that carries the pipette (2), and is adapted to, at least partially, the released from that contact when something or someone unintentionally contacts the pipette (2) during its movement. A detecting means (9) is adapted to detect when the upper, flexible part (6), at least partially, is released from the contact with the lower, rigid part (5) and in response hereto cause a switch to brake the current to the drive motor (3) for the arm (1).Type: GrantFiled: January 9, 1998Date of Patent: April 20, 1999Assignee: Pharmacia & Upjohn ABInventors: Johan Skaborn, Bjorn Johansson, Kjell rman, Leon Nordqvist
