  • Publication number: 20120050616
Abstract: Methods, electronic terminals, and systems are disclosed for controlling the display of video streams on an electronic terminal. A plurality of the video streams are received at the electronic terminal from the media server. The received video streams are displayed in an ordered set of elements on a display device of the electronic terminal. A user selection of at least a first one of the elements is received. Commands are communicated, responsive to the user selection, from the electronic terminal to the media server to control the quality of service of the video streams that are displayed in each of the non-selected elements in response to their respective location within the ordered set of elements relative to the selected first element.

  • Publication number: 20120050188
Abstract: A method of correcting an error in user input is described. The method includes monitoring for an occurrence of a shake in a user equipment, detecting a shake, comparing the detected shake with a threshold value, evaluating characters within a pre-determined distance of a character entered by the user during the shake, selecting a replacement character from the evaluated characters and replacing the entered character with the replacement character.

  • Publication number: 20110099097
Abstract: A method of charging for services in a Session Initiation Protocol-based communication network. A Server that provides a service receives a first request message from a user. In response, the server sends the user a restricted address via which services can be obtained. The user sends a second request message to an intermediate network, the second request message including the restricted address where the intermediate network has a trust relationship with the Server. A user identifier associated with the user is authenticated at the intermediate network, which then sends to the Server a third request, the third request including an identity of the user and the restricted address. The Server sends a response message, which includes credentials that the user can use for obtaining the requested service from the restricted address. The intermediate network charges the user for the requested service, and sends the credentials to the user, thereby allowing the user to access the service.

  • Publication number: 20100142411
Abstract: A method of keeping a SIP application server advised of the status of a SIP client, where the SIP application server lies within both the signalling plane and the media plane for SIP clients and is responsible for accepting SIP clients into and removing them from a SIP session, the method comprising sending keep-alive messages from the SIP client to the SIP application server across the media plane.

  • Patent number: 6526043
Abstract: A method and an apparatus solve the problem of how to be able to charge for an outgoing voice call placed by a subscriber who is simultaneously performing an internet session. The problem is solved by creating a table and associating the IP-address, which ordered the call, with the duration and the destination of the call.

  • Patent number: 6457039
Abstract: A method and an apparatus solve the problem of how to avoid IP-address collision when connecting an incoming voice phone call to an internet application. The problem is solved by, from time to time, for each entry in the list, sending a message to an application located on the IP-address and, depending on the answer or the lack of an answer, updating the list.

  • Patent number: 6400812
Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to be able to register and authenticate a user and thus to allow for a simple charging method. Achivement of registration and authentication to allow for simple charging is solved by letting the client connect to a predefined registry function supplying the telephone number the client is using and that the registry function keeps a table with telephone numbers, authentication codes and IP-addresses.

  • Patent number: 6341128
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for verifying that a client is allowed to use a voice gateway, which is provided by a provider of voice gateway services. According to the invention, the client activates a link, comprising a telephone number to a B-subscriber, on a web-page on a web-server, a verification function verifying that the client is allowed to use the voice gateway, and a telephone call is set up over the voice gateway depending on said verification.

  • Patent number: 5408218
Abstract: A model-based alarm coordination system coordinates primary and secondary alarm notifications in order to ascertain whether they are caused by a single fault, or multiple faults, in a complex electrical system. The alarm coordination function is part of a larger overall Fault Management Support (FMS) system. The FMS system is a framework that, when combined with object-specific fault management parts, offers uniform fault management functions to managed objects (MOs) within the electrical system. Each MO is viewed as a self-contained, functional unit, and is responsible for its own internal fault management. Therefore, there are no global or centralized fault management functions. Object relation models, based on functional dependencies between objects, are used to automatically solve the alarm coordination problem which arises when a large number of faults are reported in response to a single fault which causes out-of-specification performance in many dependent objects.
