  • Publication number: 20240124944
Abstract: The present invention relates to systems and methods for screening compounds and/or mutant ribosomal proteins in a eukaryotic cell that increase or decrease the translation of a target gene and thereby ameliorate or revert a defective and/or undesired translation of a target gene. Disclosed are compounds and proteins as identified with the methods and systems of the invention, pharmaceutical and cosmetic compositions thereof, their uses for the preparation of a medicament, methods of treatment of a disease or condition or cosmetic condition related to the defective translation of a gene, for example genetic diseases such as Epidermolysis bullosa, as well as diagnostic measures practical for the clinical evaluation of such diseases or conditions. Also, kits are provided which comprise the identified compounds and/or proteins in addition to suitable means for performing the methods of the invention.

  • Publication number: 20040247391
Abstract: The invention relates to a vibration cylinder for an immersion vibrator suited for compacting concrete. The vibration cylinder comprises a housing, which can be closed at one end and inside of which an unbalanced shaft that can be driven is radially and axially guided and supported by antifriction bearings. An antifriction bearing that serves to axially support the unbalanced shaft is supported on the housing in at least one axial direction by a damping element that can be subjected to a high level of deformation work.

  • Patent number: 6263750
Abstract: A device for generating directed vibrations has two centrifugal weights which are independently driven at the same speed of rotation but in opposite directions. The centrifugal weights are supported on a largely stiff carrier secured by a holder to a bracket. The holder allows the carrier to move relative to the bracket. When the centrifugal weights start moving, they become synchronized within a short period of time and generate vibrations which can be used in the desired manner via the bracket.

  • Patent number: 6152722
Abstract: A device for receiving formwork elements used to manufacture concrete elements has a bearing static structure and a flat formwork joined therewith which can be driven to vibrate by an exciting device in order to compact the still-plastic concrete. The sound-insulating joining devices are inserted between the formwork shell and the static structure. The exciting device bypasses the joining device and acts directly or indirectly on the formwork shell.
