  • Patent number: 6659325
Abstract: The setting tool comprises a housing (1), a firing device (2) and an axially displaceable piston guide (3). The simple assembly of the piston guide (3) in the housing (1) is made possible by a centering means acting between the piston guide (3) and the housing. Guidance elements (14, 22), by means of the centering means, are eccentrically arranged on at least one of the piston guide (3) and the firing device (2) and extend essentially parallel to the setting direction. The guidance elements (14, 22) are coaxially disposable on at least one of the piston guide (3) and the firing device (2) relative to corresponding receiving openings (23) on the piston guide (3) and the firing device (2).

  • Patent number: 6491199
Abstract: A setting tool comprised of a housing (1), a handle (2), an axially displaceable firing device (10), an axially displaceable piston guide (11) with a cartridge chamber (13) and a guide channel for receiving and guiding a strip-shaped cartridge magazine (15) that opens into a discharge opening (4) in the housing (1). A length (L) extends between a setting-side inside wall of the discharge opening (4) and a setting-side front face (18) of the firing device (10) in the starting position so that a used cartridge magazine (15) can assume an inclined position relative to the longitudinal axis of the guide channel, after the last cartridge is fired. The length (L) is initially between 15 mm to 20 mm and then a length that corresponds to the greatest path by which the firing device (10) can be displaced.

  • Patent number: 5865311
Abstract: An elongated strip, for holding fastening elements (5) for use in explosive powder charge operated setting tools, forms a plurality of consecutively arranged hollow, cylindrically shaped spaces for holding the fastening elements (5) and with the spaces interconnected by flexible webs (2, 3). The spaces (1) each have a central axes and are positioned between parallel sidewalls extending in the elongated direction and arranged parallel to the central axes. First flexible webs (2) are formed in the sidewalls between adjacent spaces (1). The height (H2) of the first webs (2) measured parallel to the central axes of the spaces (1) are in the range of 0.3 to 0.6 times the height (H1) of the sidewalls (4) measured parallel to the central axes of the spaces (1).
