  • Patent number: 5001490
Abstract: An optimization of the monitoring range is achieved for an antenna lobe position for the search function in a multi-function radar given a prescribed power part, asa result whereof the most beneficial signal shape, the most beneficial form of signal processing and the most beneficial sampling period are also supplied. In that case in which no clutter and no shadowings are present in the monitoring area to be covered by the multi-function radar, an instruction for optimum distribution of the radar power available for the search onto a plurality of antenna lobes is established. For general cases, an instruction for optimum distribution of the power available for the search onto a plurality of antenna lobes is established, namely by optimization of the prescribed cost-benefit function with the assistance of an iteration method sequencing in the clock of the generation of elementary radar requests.
