By virtue of relative movement, the pack group (55) is separated off from a following line of packs (52).

Abstract: Packaging a plurality of cuboid containers, such as cigarette packs, in a package that is larger than the containers is enabled by arranging the containers in an offset array in which adjacent sides of the containers are offset from each other by a predetermined amount. A blank of relatively stiff material is folded around the array to form the package. The amount the containers are offset in the array is the same amount by which the package sides are longer than the adjacent sides of the containers. This enables the array in effect to fill the package even though the containers themselves are smaller than the package. The invention is particularly useful for cigarette packs since it enables the same package blank to be used for different size cigarette packs.

Abstract: Sealing rollers (23, 24, 25) serve for connecting tear-open strips with a film web (10) by applying heat and pressure, the sealing rollers (23, 24, 25) resting against the film web (10) in the region of the tear-open strips. Opposite of the sealing rollers (23, 24, 25) there are positioned counter rollers which make it possible to transfer pressure by means of the sealing rollers (23 to 25). The sealing rollers (23 to 25) are heated, specifically by radiant heat from a heated housing (31), which serves as a carrier for the sealing rollers (23, 24, 25).

Abstract: A transport appliance (10) to be actuated manually serves for handling large-volume reels (11) of packaging material. This transport appliance (10) is equipped with a lifting mechanism (23) which in each case grasps a reel (11) with vertical positioning, specifically by means of carrier rods (24, 25) on the cylindrical circumferential surface. The lifting mechanism (23) is operated hydraulically by means of a vertical hydraulic cylinder (33) which is supplied with oil via a hydraulic pump (38) to be operated by hand, in order to raise the carrier rods (24, 25) together with the reel (11).

Abstract: Method and apparatus for the coating of liquids, particularly of colour markings, onto film webs or the like. A printing unit (16) serves for the transfer of especially small colour markings to film webs. In the printing unit (16), a dye roller (25) dips from above into a dye chamber (24) which is open at the top and takes up dye by means of a rotating movement. This dye flows constantly or intermittently through the dye chamber (24) which is dimensioned to be relatively small. The dye can be fed to the dye chamber (24) from a reservoir (43) via a feed conduit (45) or discharged from the dye chamber (24) to another reservoir via a discharge conduit (46). A further particularity consists in measures for the improvement of the proofness by sucking off dye residues on the dye roller (25) by means of suction conduits (74, 76).
