  • Publication number: 20250125607
Abstract: A protection circuit with fast responses and high noise immunity includes values of components in the protection circuit determined based on a circuit model of the protection circuit for specific power devices. Further, the circuit model includes overcurrent fault detection criterion based on a maximum current and voltage across power device, together with the transient response of the power device. The protection circuit includes an additional current source when used with a gate driver circuit having a built-in current source. The protection circuit further includes a precharged circuit configured to set the monitored voltage at a base voltage close to the threshold voltage to improve the fault detection responses with a smaller tolerance gap in voltage.

  • Patent number: 5653210
Abstract: A method and a device for the open-loop and/or closed-loop control of a final controlling element, in particular for influencing the fuel injected into an internal combustion engine, are described. A system deviation is defined starting from a setpoint and an actual value. On the basis of the system deviation, a loop controller specifies a manipulated variable to be received by the final controlling element. If the system deviation lies outside of a range defined by at least two values, a maximum value is specified for the manipulated variable.

  • Patent number: 5444381
Abstract: A measuring circuit (MS) for measuring the value of an impedance in an impedance network includes an oscillator device (OSZ1), a second oscillator device (OSZ2), a phase-controlled rectifier (PG), a reference/actual value comparison point (AG) and an integrator. The first oscillator device feeds a first alternating voltage of constant amplitude and constant frequency to a first output connection (A1). The second oscillator device feeds a second alternating voltage of the same frequency, but with adjustable amplitude and with phase shifted by 180.degree., to a second output connection (A2). The amplitude of the second alternating voltage depends on the phase of the signal which is transmitted to the phase-controlled rectifier via an input connection (E). If the input signal is in phase with the second output signal, the amplitude of the second output signal is reduced. However, if the input signal oscillates in opposite phase to the second output signal, the amplitude of the second output signal is increased.

  • Patent number: 5335136
Abstract: The invention relates to an electronic circuit arrangement for triggering excitation windings of electromagnetic components, provided with supplementary circuit elements, in particular free-running circuit elements, preferably solenoid valves (MV.sub.1 to MV.sub.n), whereby in order to provide a flexible open-loop control, the components are each connected in series to a controllable contact element (3). To reduce the degree of complexity of the circuit, the manufacturing price and the space requirement, it is proposed that the connecting terminals (1, 4) of this series connection lead directly, and the connections (2) between the components (MV.sub.1 to MV.sub.n) and the contact elements (3) lead via diodes (D.sub.1 to D.sub.n), respectively, to a collecting point (A, B, C), to which collecting points (A, B, C) is linked one and the same supplementary circuit-element configuration (T.sub.F,C.sub.L,10,11) shared by all components.

  • Patent number: 5319180
Abstract: A sheathed-element glow plug for disposition in the combustion chamber of air-compressing internal combustion engines is proposed which in a known manner contains a resistor element (17) in its sheathed-element (13), where this resistor element (17) is composed of two serially connected resistor spirals (20, 21). While the resistor spiral (20) on the combustion chamber side is a heater spiral with a resistance behavior which is essentially the same at all operating temperatures, the wirespiral shaped resistance spiral (21) on the side remote from the combustion chamber which acts as a regulating element, has a high temperature resistance coefficient.

  • Patent number: 5245501
Abstract: A process for controlling and measuring the movement of an armature of an electromagnetic switching member with an excitation coil is proposed, which has the following steps: a current (i) or a voltage (u1) is applied to the excitation winding (3) in order to move the armature into a first actuatable position; before the start of the movement of the armature, the current or the voltage is raised above a value at which the armature remains in the actuated position, and before termination of the movement of the armature the current or the voltage is reduced to a defined value, which suffices to hold the armature in the actuated position; finally, the temporal variations in the current or the voltage are measured after setting of the defined value, for the purpose of recognizing the termination of the armature movement.

  • Patent number: 5235949
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and arrangement for preparing a fuel-metering signal M for a diesel engine starting with measured variables such as accelerator pedal position, rotational speed, lambda, exhaust gas temperature or torque. A fuel quantity request MW is pregiven in dependence upon the position of the accelerator pedal. This quantity request MW is supplied to a minimum selector together with a second signal. The output signal M of the minimum selector, in turn, determines the metered fuel. The second signal derives from a precontrol characteristic field 50 in dependence upon the speed. The output signal of the precontrol characteristic field MV is influenced by the controller output signal MR in specific operating conditions.

  • Patent number: 5202628
Abstract: An evaluating circuit for linearizing the output signal of a differential-choke displacement transmitter has two inductive coils each supplied with an alternating voltage with constant frequency produced by an oscillator, wherein the amplitude is adjustable and the second alternating voltage is phase-displaced relative to the first alternating voltage by 180.degree.. The signal which is picked up between the inductive coils at the input is compared, after a phase-controlled rectification, with a reference value and the deviation is integrated. With the aid of the integrated signal the regulation of the amplitude adjustment of the alternating voltages is performed. As a result a measuring signal without residual ripple is obtained, which changes proportionally to an adjustment path for example of an adjustment rod.

  • Patent number: 5131371
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method and arrangement for controlling a self-igniting internal combustion engine. The arrangement includes at least one measured-value sensor, electronic control unit for forming a quantity signal for metering fuel, and a control unit for driving individual actuators for each cylinder. The actuators determine the quantity of fuel injected by the pump elements into the cylinders. Under specific conditions, a corrective unit is activated which determines corrective values specific to the cylinders for making the cylinders equal. The open-loop control unit applies the metering signal to the actuators in dependence upon the quantity signal and the corrective values.

  • Patent number: 5116342
Abstract: The invention relates to a trigger circuit which compares amplitudes of the signal waveform of a periodic signal to reference values dependent upon the previous signal waveform of this signal. A trigger signal is emitted when the particular reference value is reached. The trigger circuit includes a memory for the particular reference value. The reference value is determined from a portion of the period of the signal to determine a precise triggering point.

  • Patent number: 5070836
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method and an arrangement for controlling the fuel injection in a high-pressure fuel pump. Magnetic valves determine the fuel quantity to be injected into the engine. The magnetic valve is controlled during the pumping phase of the pumping element in such a manner that first a preinjection and then a main injection is carried out. In specific operating conditions, the control apparatus determines the duration of the drive pulses for the magnetic valve at which a preinjection just takes place. With the duration of the drive pulses as a basis, the control apparatus forms compensating signals for the drive pulses which effect preinjection and stores the same.
