  • Patent number: 10932604
Abstract: A masticating juicer (10), including a housing (20) with a mastication chamber (30) and a food chute (40), the food chute defining a feeding chamber (50) positioned above the mastication chamber. The food processing apparatus further includes a food pusher (60) configured to be insertable into, and removable from, the feeding chamber. The food chute includes a flexible sealing member (80) that extends from the food chute into the feeding chamber. The flexible sealing member configured to engage the outer circumference of the food pusher when the food pusher is inside the feeding chamber, thereby preventing the back flow of food and juice through the food chute.

  • Patent number: 10470613
Abstract: A device (1) for cutting food includes a cutting unit having a rotatable carrier, a slicing knife associated with the carrier at one side of the carrier for slicing the food, and at least one dicing knife associated with the carrier at another side of the carrier for dicing the food. The cutting unit also includes a protection element that is disposed along a side of the carrier where the at least one dicing knife associated with the carrier is present. The protection element delimits a dicing space for the at least one dicing knife associated with the carrier to move through during operation. The protection element has at least one annular groove at a side for facing the carrier. The annular groove receives a free end of the at least one dicing knife associated with the carrier.

  • Patent number: 10149566
Abstract: An appliance for preparing food comprises a pot (2) for containing food items and a base for supporting the pot (2). The base is equipped with heating means (50) for supplying heat to the pot (2), which comprise at least one heating element (52). The heating means (50) are adapted to only partially contact a bottom (21) of the pot (2) when the pot (2) is in place on the base, through at least one contact area which is at a position which corresponds to a position of the heating element (52). The appliance further comprises stirring means which are adapted to be movably arranged in the pot (2) for stirring food items, which are designed for directing the food items to a directly heated area (60) of the bottom (21) of the pot (2) which corresponds to the contact area of the heating means (50) during their movement.

  • Publication number: 20170071245
Abstract: Citrus fruit pressing devices, apparatus and methods are disclosed. Several features that can reduce the incidence of rupturing oil pockets in the fruit peel can be employed to improve the taste of the juice pressed from the fruit. One feature includes cutting (307) the peel at least partly along a circumference of the fruit to reduce rupturing of oil pockets when the fruit is flattened and the surface of the fruit is folded over. Another feature includes utilizing a curved knife, which can provide a relatively deep cut and a smooth expansion of the peel. According to other aspects, juice extraction can be improved by employing one or more protrusions in a surface of the pressing element to press areas of the fruit in which the peel of the fruit is not present. Another aspect is directed to using the pressing speed to control the pulp content of the juice.
