  • Patent number: 4329992
Abstract: Medical apparatus for parenteral liquids wherein at least the surfaces coming into contact with said liquids consist of or contain a chlorinated polyolefin as specified and additionally contain a glycerol ester of an aliphatic fatty acid. The apparatus is characterized by a very good blood tolerance.

  • Patent number: 4178329
Abstract: What is disclosed is a plastics material adaptable to biomedical uses, the surface of which material at least partially consists of a graft copolymer having a hydrocarbon main chain and side chains grafted thereon, said side chains being polymers comprising at least one vinyl monomer selected from the group consisting of acrylic acid esters of the formulaCF.sub.3 --(CF.sub.2).sub.x --(CH.sub.2).sub.y --O--CO--CH.dbd.CH.sub.2,where x is an integer from 3 to 16 and y is an integer from 1 to 12, vinylene carbonate, N-vinyl alkylamides of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are the same or different and each is hydrogen or alkyl having 1 to 6 carbon atoms.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 5, 1978
Date of Patent: December 11, 1979
    Assignee: Hoechst Aktiengesellschaft

  • Patent number: 4124751
Abstract: Esters of acrylic acid and methacrylic acid may be polymerized with the aid of either free radical forming or ionically effective initiators. The stereospecificy of the polymers may be influenced by the selection of specific initiators; magnesium-organic compounds are suitable for the synthesis of isotactic polymers. Acrylic acid and methacrylic acid esters having a high degree of isotacticity and a narrow molecular weight distribution are obtained with the aid of substituted phenylmagnesium halides. They are suitable as gauge and as test substances.
    Type: Grant
