  • Patent number: 5630595
Abstract: In a braking device for roller skates (1), especially in-line (i.e. "single-track") roller skates, with a brake block (5) which is removably secured to the frame (2) or the boot (1), the brake block is mounted on the frame (2) or boot so as to pivot against the force of a spring (6), thus permitting gentle application of the brake. At the same time, maximum braking is possible if needed, due to a projecting part of the brake block (5) which is supported in a guide and can be applied to or moved against a roller, without risk of putting the skater off balance during braking.

  • Patent number: 5601342
Abstract: The device for inserting and removing rollers in single-row roller skates, in which the axles are inserted through aligned openings in a frame and are mounted therein, includes an axle having at one end a circumferential groove or engagement recess. Into the circumferential groove or engagement recess extends a removable locking member in the form of a pin or a hook, wherein the axle is secured in a given rotary position by adjusting a bolt lever (9). The rollers (15) of the roller skate are rotatably mounted on the said axle.

  • Patent number: 5588658
Abstract: In a device for mounting rollers (4) on inline roller skates (1), in which the axles of the rollers (4) extend through openings in a frame (3) and are mounted in a sub-frame (6), whereby the inside diameter of the openings (14) of the frame (3) is larger than the external diameter of the axles (7), and the sub-frame (6) can be secured to the frame (3) in at least two different vertical positions: the sub-frame (6) can be positively secured using an insert member (10) which extends through the frame (3) and the free flanks of the sub-frame (6) in at least two different vertical positions, such that a simple mounting of at least some of the rollers, at different vertical positions on the frame, is possible without the necessity for special tools.

  • Patent number: 4991319
Abstract: A ski shoe having a shell and a hinged cuff that can be pivoted on the shell. The shell and cuff are also connected at their heel by a spring and tension member. The tension member is pivotally attached to the shell, and passes through a support surface on the cuff. The tension member engages one end of the spring and the support surfaces engages the other. The support surface on the cuff pivots around an axis intersecting the tension member.
