  • Publication number: 20080236762
Abstract: A metering device which, for the purpose of forming an adhesive medium sump (21), is associated with an application roller (16), having at least one film applicator (36), a pull-off edge (50) of said film applicator (36) extending in a metering gap (28) formed between the application roller (16) and the metering device (14), is characterized in that an adhesive medium dispenser (51) is provided, in the metering gap (28), on a film applicator (36) side situated opposite the adhesive medium sump (21). A metering device as described above is characterized in that the dispenser (51) is aligned so as to lead away from the applicator roller (16).

  • Publication number: 20070209587
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for coating at least one substrate web (19) or laminating at least one substrate web (22) onto a substrate web (19) that is coated with adhesives (21) so as to form a laminate (24). Said apparatus comprises a dosing device that is assigned to an application roller (16) used for applying adhesive (21) as well as a counterpressure roller (17) which is allocated to the application roller (16) and between which the at least one substrate web (19) is fed in order to apply the adhesive (21). The dosing device (14) is disposed so as to be movable relative to the application roller (16) in order to adjust a width of the dosing gap (28). The inventive apparatus is characterized in that the dosing device (14) encompasses at least two different areas (34, 37) which can be selectively assigned to a closing gap (28) in order to apply adhesive (21).

  • Publication number: 20060260540
Abstract: The invention relates to a positioning element for adjusting the operating width of a metering gap (34) in a device (11) for applying flowable medium. Said positioning element comprises a cylindrical hollow member (58) that is closed at an end located on the driven side. At least one continuous bore (59) that forms a passage (61) between the at least one distribution channel (31) and the metering gap (34) is provided inside the cylindrical hollow member (58) while at least one sleeve section (54) which is embodied as a sealing and gliding element and surrounds the at least one continuous bore (59) or a group of continuous bores (59) is mounted on said cylindrical hollow member (58).

  • Patent number: 6986823
Abstract: A process and an apparatus for producing a laminate, comprise at least one polymer film with information and at least one substrate, for further processing for forgery-proof documents, in which, in the first processing station, a supporting film is delaminated on a first side of the polymer film, after which a substrate is laminated on by an adhesive and subsequently exposed to a crosslinking-active radiation, and in which a laminate led out from the first processing station is fed to a second processing station, and the supporting film is delaminated on a second side of the laminate, after which a substrate is laminated on by an adhesive and subsequently exposed to a crosslinking-active radiation.

  • Patent number: 6792990
Abstract: A device for laminating at least one substrate to an adhesive-coated substrate for forming a laminate, in which the adhesive-coated substrate is supplied to a laminating point formed between a driven roller and a laminating roller, the substrate being supplied by means of the laminating roller to the substrate provided with adhesive and bonded with this substrate in a laminating point; and to a device for coating a layer on a substrate for the production of a coated length of material; the laminate formed from the substrates, or the coated length of material, being guided directly after the laminating point at least over a few angular degrees along the laminating roller; and the laminating roller being constituted as a temperature-adjustable roller.

  • Patent number: 6730166
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for the application of fluid materials to a surface of a sheet-form material, comprising an application roller, with a roller body and a jacket surface, which, by means of at least partial contact with the sheet-form material, transfers the fluid materials leading to the sheet-form material. The invention further comprises an application doctor blade, with a pre-dosing channel for the supply of fluid materials leading thereto and which at least partly coats the application roller with fluid material. A flow of a medium is provided in at least one region adjacent to the jacket surface, which is directed from the longitudinal mid-axis of the application roller to the outside.
