    Abstract: The invention concerns a method for removing resp. renovating a layer resp. coating (4) from a surface (2) covered with the coating (4), wherein the coating (4) to be removed comprises a hazardous material. According to the method, a working step, which produces dust, such as in particular a grinding or sanding, is performed only on, resp. in a portion of, the surface, which has been coated with at least one newly applied priming coat layer (26). In a first aspect, the method comprises: (i) pre-treating the coating (4) to be removed resp. renovated, so that at least a portion of the coating is transformed into a moist resp.
