    Abstract: The systems, devices, and methods described herein relate to gradient-index (GRIN) lenses formed by shaping a stack of optical materials into an annealed puck, shaping the annealed puck into a predetermined charge design, forming the charge design into an optical preform, and forming the GRIN lens from the optical preform. The steps of this process may be refined iteratively to produce a GRIN lens with a high degree of precision.
