  • Patent number: 8852557
Abstract: A pharmaceutical aerosol is disclosed which is suitable for delivering an active compound to the mucosa of the nose, the osteomeatal complex or a paranasal sinus. The pressure of the aerosol is not constant, but pulsates at a frequency from about 10 to 90 Hz. The aerosol is further characterized in that it exhibits a low effective flow rate of less than about 5 liters per minute. The aerosol is, inter alia, suitable for the prevention, management, or treatment of a disease, symptom, or condition affecting the nose or the paranasal sinuses, such as acute and chronic sinusitis.

  • Publication number: 20140287986
Abstract: Novel template-fixed ?-hairpin peptidomimetics of the general formula (I): cyclo[P1-P2-P3-P4-P5-P6-P7-P8-P9-P10-P11-P12-P13-P14-T1-T2] wherein the single elements T or P are ?-amino acid residues connected in either direction which, depending on their positions in the chain, are as defined in the description and the claims, and salts thereof, have the property of antagonizing the biological effect of the receptor FPR1. They can be used as medicaments to treat or prevent diseases or conditions in the areas of inflammatory diseases, allergic conditions, immunological disorders, neuroinflammation, neurological disorders, obstructive airway diseases, infectious diseases, ischemic reperfusion injuries and proliferative disorders such as e.g. cancer. • Publication number: 20140213509
Abstract: ?-Hairpin peptidomimetics of the general formula cyclo(-Tyr1-His2-Xaa3-Cys4-Ser5-Ala6-Xaa7-Xaa8-Arg9-Tyr10-Cys11-Tyr12-Xaa13-Xaa14-DPro15-Pro16-), disulfide bond between Cys4 and Cys11, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, with Xaa3, Xaa7, Xaa8, Xaa13 and Xaa14 being amino acid residues of certain types which are defined in the description and the claims, have favorable pharmacological properties and can be used for preventing HIV infections in healthy individuals or for slowing and halting viral progression in infected patients; or where cancer is mediated or resulting from CXCR4 receptor activity; or where immunological diseases are mediated or resulting from CXCR4 receptor activity; or for treating immunosuppression; or during apheresis collections of peripheral blood stem cells and/or as agents to induce mobilization of stem cells to regulate tissue repair. These peptidomimetics can be manufactured by a process which is based on a mixed solid- and solution phase synthetic strategy.

  • Publication number: 20130225506
Abstract: Novel template-fixed ?-hairpin peptidomimetics of the general formula (I), wherein the single elements T or P are ?-amino acid residues connected from the carbonyl (C?O) point of attachment to the nitrogen (N) of the next element in clockwise direction and wherein said elements, depending on their positions in the chain, are defined in the description and the claims have the property to act on the receptor CXCR7. Thus, these ?-hairpin peptidomimetics can be useful in the treatment or prevention of diseases or conditions in the area of dermatological disorders, metabolic diseases, inflammatory diseases, fibrotic diseases, infectious diseases, neurological diseases, cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, gastro-intestinal tract disorders, urological diseases, ophthalmic diseases, stomatological diseases, haematological diseases and cancer; or the mobilisation of stem cells.

  • Patent number: 7980247
Abstract: A therapeutic aerosol device in which an aerosol generated by a nebulising device is supplied through a nosepiece to a patient's nostril so that the main aerosol flow supplied is able to emerge from the other nostril. The main aerosol flow is superimposed by pressure fluctuations. In order to guarantee that, due to the pressure fluctuation, aerosol is transported to the paranasal sinuses, a low resistance device is provided in the other nostril.

  • Publication number: 20050246160
Abstract: A system for the generation and storage of data, each of which represent a component of a technical product or a step in a formation process for the product. The system can generate types of relationships between several data object types and allocate data object types as well as automatically evaluatable specifications for dependencies between data objects to the types of relationships. A classification for data object types in various phases of the formation process is preferably provided. A coupling together of various applications for separate given phases is without the need to generate and maintain an intermediate model or direct interfaces between the applications.
