  • Publication number: 20140128077
Abstract: A wireless cellular telecommunications device stores a first parameter obtained from system information of a first cell and measures an attribute of a signal received from a candidate cell, determines if the candidate cell is a closed subscriber group cell, and evaluates the candidate cell for re-selection. If the candidate cell is determined to be a closed subscriber group cell, the evaluation of the candidate cell for re-selection is based on at least the measured attribute irrespective of the first stored parameter, that first stored parameter indicating a minimum value for the measured attribute.

  • Publication number: 20140080487
Abstract: A method, computer readable medium and mobile device for operating using more than one Radio Access Technology (RAT) are provided. When the mobile device is operating in a serving cell of a first RAT, it obtains, through at least one of wireless access radios in the mobile device, a first set of candidate information from a message transmitted for the serving cell. It also obtains, through at least one of the wireless access radios, a second set of candidate information from a message transmitted for a neighbour cell of the serving cell. The mobile device considers the candidate information from the first set and the candidate information from the second set for reselection by the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 8630632
Abstract: The disclosure addresses technology for identifying a mobile subscriber integrated services digital network number (MSISDN) of a mobile communication device in an extended enterprise voice network comprising the mobile device, an enterprise server, a private branch exchange (PBX), and a service management platform (SMP). The need to determine an MSISDN is detected. At least one of disable calling line identification restriction at the mobile communication device, and enable calling line identification restriction override at the SMP is implemented. The SMP is contacted from the mobile communication device. The incoming contact is identified at the SMP. The MSISDN is transmitted to the mobile device from the SMP. The transmitted MSISDN is written to the SIM card.

  • Patent number: 8626683
Abstract: Systems and methods for achieving PLMN continuity when moving between networks of different types through network selection are provided. When a mobile station moves from a first network type, such as cellular, to a second network type, such as GAN, if there is a PLMN discontinuity, this may result in a dropped call. In order to avoid this, networks for the first network type and the second network type are selected such that there is PLMN continuity. This can involve reselection of a different cellular network than one currently providing service to the mobile station.

  • Publication number: 20130331063
Abstract: In some implementations, a method includes receiving, by user equipment (UE), an authentication request from a public land mobile network (PLMN). The request identifies an authentication application. The authentication application is executed to determine an authentication response based on the request. The authentication response is transmitted to the PLMN.

  • Publication number: 20130316720
Abstract: A user equipment implements a method of processing indication messages, such as SCRI (signaling connection release indication) messages. For at least one RRC (radio resource control) state, if the current RRC state of the UE is a result of a previously sent indication, the UE inhibits itself from sending a further indication message.

  • Publication number: 20130188499
Abstract: Methods, apparatus and articles of manufacture for performing idle mode mobility measurements in a mobile network are disclosed. An example method in a user equipment (UE) disclosed herein comprises receiving, from the mobile network, a system information block (SIB) message specifying idle mode mobility measurement is to be performed. If the measurement parameter threshold is not configured in the SIB message or if the SIB message includes an indication to not use a configured measurement parameter threshold in the SIB message, the UE sets a measurement parameter threshold for idle mode mobility measurement.
