  • Publication number: 20070169963
Abstract: A system comprising first and second fire-resistant parts for at least temporary fire-resistant sealing of an opening in a wall in which at least one transport device such as a cable, conduit or tube has been fed through, or will be fed through, wherein the first and second parts are each at least partly placeable in the opening, wherein the first parts are designed to at least partly envelop the transport device and wherein the second parts are designed to be placed between the first parts and/or between the first parts and an inner wall of the opening for the purpose of at least virtually completely sealing the opening, wherein the first parts are substantially manufactured from a fire-resistant rubber, wherein the second parts are manufactured from a fire-resistant material based on an elastomeric foam with a substantially closed cell structure, in which foam, at least one crust-forming, fire-retardant material is included.

  • Publication number: 20070066745
Abstract: The invention relates to a fire resistant material based on an elastomeric foam. The invention further comprises a system for sealing off, at least during a fire taking place adjacent the wall, in an at least virtually entirely fire -tight manner, an open extending through that wall through which a transporting device comprising for instance a cable, duct or pipe has been fed, the system being provided with elements manufactured from a fire resistant material which expands under the influence of temperature increase. In addition, the invention extends to a wall in which such a system has been incorporated and a method for scaling off an opening extending through a wall through which at least one transporting device such as a cable, duct or pipe has been fed.

  • Publication number: 20050179214
Abstract: A bushing arrangement for sealing passage of a cable, a pipe, a conduit or the like through an opening in a wall, which bushing arrangement comprises at least one seal arranged in the opening in the operative condition, which seal is at least substantially made of an elastic, fire resistant material with a base of a cross-linkable polymer and an expandable agent in a quantity and composition such that the seal will expand in case of a fire, in such a manner that the opening on the wall will be sealed medium-tight, a special feature being the fact that the material of the seal has a foam structure comprising closed cells.

  • Patent number: 6862852
Abstract: The invention releases to a sealing system comprising a cylindrical tube of a material that is capable of deformation under the influence of a temperature increase, and a gasket of an at least partially elastic material for sealingly retaining the tube in a lead-through housing coaxial with the tube by forming a collar therearound, wherein said gasket is made of a fire-retardant material with a base of a cross-linkable material and an expandable material, in such an amount and of such a composition that a temperature increase above the plasticizing point of the tube will cause the gasket to expand to such an extent that the tube is compressed and a medium-tight seal of the lead-through housing and the tube is obtained.

  • Patent number: 5108060
Abstract: A bushing for the sealing passage of a cable, pipe and the like through a wall, comprising a frame made of a rigid material which may be sealingly inserted in an aperture provided in the wall, as well as one or more parallelepipedal blocks of a resilient material which may be composed from two identical halves, which blocks in their composite state exhibit a bore adapted to the shape and dimensions of a cable to be passed through, which blocks can be inserted in the frame aperture so as to be a fine fit, with the two halves of every block encasing a cable, whereby the blocks are dimensioned such that, under operating conditions of the bushing, the extend outwards on at least one side of the frame in a direction transverse to the plane of the frame, which blocks are provided with circumferential internal ribs over at least a part of their length, and whereby blocks whose outer faces rest against an inner wall of the frame under operating conditions of the bushing are provided with external ribs over at least a
