Patents by Inventor Johannes A. M. Van Hout

Johannes A. M. Van Hout has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 6481103
Abstract: The invention relates to an electrically driven shaving apparatus of the type having a reciprocating cutter (6). The cutter is situated in a shaving head (2) which is freely pivotable between two positions. The shaving apparatus also comprises a trimmer (4), which is movable from a non-driven rest position (17) into a driven operating position (18). In this operating position the shaving head (2) is pivoted away into a locking position (19), in which position the cutter (6) is not driven. The advantage is that all the motor power is available for driving the trimmer.

  • Patent number: 6145200
Abstract: A shaving apparatus having an external cutting member and an internal cutting member, which is rotationally drivable with respect to said external cutting member, which internal cutting member is supported on the external cutting member both by an axial and a radial bearing means, the internal cutting member being in axially interlocking engagement with the external cutting member, the internal cutting member and the external cutting member, the shaving apparatus further having a drive member for driving the internal cutting member. In operation, in order to minimize the frictional losses between the internal and the external cutting member, the drive member exerts on the internal cutting member exclusively a force for rotationally driving the internal cutting member, while the drive member does not exert any axial force on the internal cutting member.

  • Patent number: 5572895
Abstract: A method for the mutual displacement of at least two parts of an actuator interconnected by a bridge, and such an actuator. The bridge which connects the two parts and extends parallel to a main surface is locally heated through and through with a temperature gradient which is minimized transverse to the main surface, and is subsequently cooled down whereby the length of the bridge between the parts is reduced owing to the plastic deformation which occurs, so that the parts are displaced relative to one another in a direction parallel to the main surface.
