  • Patent number: 8112312
Abstract: An advertisement optimization approach is presented, which utilizes multivariate testing to correlate characteristics of an advertisement to favorable responses received from an environment to which the advertisement was provided. As one example, a text based webpage advertisement may be tested to optimize a variety of different characteristics of the advertisement for response metrics such as click-through rate and conversion rate. Additional approaches are described, whereby advertisements may be tested and optimized across a plurality of different media formats, including both electronic and non-electronic media.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 19, 2007
Date of Patent: February 7, 2012
    Inventor: Johannes Ritter
  • Patent number: 7514926
Abstract: This document discusses, among other things, a system and method for a coil having a plurality of resonant elements and an adjustable frame. A position of at least one resonant element can be adjusted relative to at least one other resonant element. A variable impedance is coupled to adjacent resonant elements and the impedance varies as a function of a separation distance. Cables are coupled to each resonant element and are gathered at a junction in a particular manner.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 14, 2006
Date of Patent: April 7, 2009
Assignee: Regents of the University of Minnesota
Inventors: Gregor Adriany, Pierre-Francois Van de Moortele, Johannes Ritter, William Voje, J. Thomas Vaughan, Kamil Ugurbil

  • Patent number: 6500260
Abstract: A method and apparatus for applying pressure sensitive adhesive to a substrate, in which the adhesive is deposited on a transfer surface, such as a circulating transfer belt, dried, and subsequently transferred to a plurality of overlapping sheets. The sheets are preferably coated with a primer or a low adhesion backsize, or both, prior to application of the adhesive.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: December 31, 2002
    Assignee: Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing

  • Patent number: 5985439
Abstract: Described is a transfer web, whose upper side is coated with a first releasing agent and whose underside is coated with a second releasing agent, whereby the second releasing agent exhibits a significantly greater peel force than the first releasing agent. To expand the possible applications of the web, it is provided that the first releasing agent is coated with self-adhering pressure sensitive adhesive in order to transfer the pressure sensitive adhesive onto blanks (sheets) of paper or similar material.
